EKE 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D
Software version identification, permanent software update and factory reset procedure
Applies to EKE 1A, EKE 1B, EKE 1C and EKE 1D controllers.
This procedure explains how to identify the controller software version and select the applicable update or reset process. Controllers with software version 2.04 can be upgraded for a permanent resolution. Controllers with software below 2.04 use the factory reset and reconfiguration process described below.
Important: Before making any changes to the controller, unplug the controller from any network connections.
1. Identify the controller software version
The software version can be identified using either of the following methods:

2. Select the correct procedure

4. Permanent software update - SW version 2.04
Use this process for EKE 1A, 1B, 1C or 1D controllers with software version 2.04. The SOP identifies this as the permanent software fix.
- Download and install MYK Manager on the PC.
- Copy or download the approved EKE update software to the PC.
- Connect the MMIMYK gateway (080G0073) to the PC.
- Using MYK Manager, upload the EKE update software to the MMIMYK gateway.
- Connect the MMIMYK gateway to the EKE using the ACCCBI UI cable (080G0075).
- Power on the EKE with a 24 V supply.
- Select Program > Download.
- Select the folder containing the update software and select All.
- The download status bar will start. Wait until the download process is complete.
- When complete, disconnect the MMIMYK gateway and cable.
- Disconnect power to the EKE, then restore power to restart the controller.
Configuration retention: The SOP states that the EKE retains the configuration previously made in the product after the software update. Verify the configuration using the MMIGRS2 display or KoolProg PC tool in online mode.
The original SOP also notes that a supporting video is available for updating EKE 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D controllers with SW 2.04.
5. Factory reset and reconfiguration - temporary solution
Temporary process: For controllers below SW 2.04, the SOP states that the controller can only be temporarily resolved by resetting it to factory settings and reconfiguring it. This process must be repeated every 3 years from the start of operation.
A. Controller has not already reset its configuration
Option 1 - KoolProg PC tool
- Connect the EKE to the KoolProg PC tool using the MMIMYK gateway (080G0073) and ACCCBI UI cable (080G0075).
- Go to Online Configuration.
- Use the Save button at the top left to save the existing EKE configuration to the PC.
- Search for parameter B007 - Apply defaults.
- Change B007 to Factory and wait 10 seconds.
- Disconnect the EKE from the PC and remove the 24 V power supply from the controller.
- Restore the power supply.
- Reconnect the EKE to the PC.
- Use Copy to Device in KoolProg to copy the previously saved settings back to the EKE.
- Confirm the configuration using KoolProg online service mode.
Option 2 - MMIGRS2 display
- Connect the EKE to the MMIGRS2 display (080G0294) using the ACCCBI UI cable (080G0075).
- Enter the configuration settings.
- Under Service, change parameter B007 - Apply defaults to Factory.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Remove the 24 V power supply from the controller.
- Restore the power supply.
- Reconfigure the EKE to the required configuration.
B. Controller has already reset its configuration
Option 1 - KoolProg PC tool
- Connect the EKE to the KoolProg PC tool using the MMIMYK gateway (080G0073) and ACCCBI UI cable (080G0075).
- Go to Online Configuration.
- Search for parameter B007 - Apply defaults.
- Change B007 to Factory and wait 10 seconds.
- Disconnect the EKE from the PC and remove the 24 V power supply from the controller.
- Restore the power supply.
- Reconnect the EKE to the PC.
- Reconfigure the EKE to the required configuration.
Option 2 - MMIGRS2 display
- Connect the EKE to the MMIGRS2 display (080G0294) using the ACCCBI UI cable (080G0075).
- Enter the configuration settings.
- Under Service, change parameter B007 - Apply defaults to Factory.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Remove the 24 V power supply from the controller.
- Restore the power supply.
- Reconfigure the EKE to the required configuration.
6. After the update
Identify updated controllers: The SOP recommends placing an indication or sticker on the controller showing that the software patch has been completed. The sticker can include the date code for when the software patch was performed.
