UTY-RSRY / UTY-RHRY Indoor Unit Addressing
Setting indoor unit and refrigerant addresses from the wired remote controller
Procedure for entering function setting mode, selecting the target RC address and assigning indoor/refrigerant addresses.
Purpose: Use this procedure when an indoor unit address or refrigerant address needs to be set from a UTY-RSRY or UTY-RHRY wired remote controller.
Important: If the indoor unit rotary switches have already been used to set the address, the controller may display dashes and the function setting cannot be completed from the remote controller.
1. Initial controller start-up
When power is first applied to the controller, a pattern will flash on the display. The controller will then prompt for the temperature display format.
| Display value | Temperature format |
|---|---|
| 0 | Celsius |
| 1 | Fahrenheit |
- Use the Temperature Up and Temperature Down buttons to select 0 for Celsius or 1 for Fahrenheit.
- Press the Power button to confirm the selection.
- The normal controller screen will then be displayed.
2. Enter function setting mode
- Press and hold Temperature Up and Fan Down together for a few seconds.
- The controller will display A1.
- Press and hold Fan Up for approximately 2 seconds until F1 is displayed.
- Press the Power button to select F1.
Button sequence: Temperature Up + Fan Down → A1 → hold Fan Up → F1 → Power.
3. Select the RC address and set the indoor unit address
- Use the Temperature Up/Down buttons to change the setting number shown in the lower-right of the display to 13.
- Press the Power button to enter.
- The controller will display the RC address.
- If multiple indoor units have been RC-grouped, select the RC address for the indoor unit you want to configure.
- Press the Power button to confirm the selected RC address.
Address function numbers
| Function number | Address type |
|---|---|
| 01 | Indoor unit address |
| 02 | Refrigerant address |
- After the RC address is confirmed, 00 will flash in the lower-right corner. This is the function number.
- Use the Temperature Up/Down buttons to select the required function number.
- Press the Power button to enter the selected function.
- Set the required address value.
- Press the Power button to confirm each function setting.
Display interpretation: The smaller number is the function number and the larger number is the setting number. In the source example, the indoor unit is set to address 9 and refrigerant address 2.
4. Troubleshooting: dashes displayed instead of an address
Symptom: The setting number displays dashes when attempting to set an address.
This indicates that the function setting cannot take place from the wired controller.
Check the indoor unit rotary switches. Ensure the address has not already been set using the rotary switches on the indoor unit.
5. Final verification
- After completing the address settings, reset power to the indoor unit.
- Run the Address Checker using the applicable service tool to confirm the indoor unit and refrigerant addresses have been set correctly.
