Overview

The anywAiR® Zoneconnex system provides control of compatible GENERAL ducted air conditioning systems through a wall-mounted TouchPoint LCD and the anywAiR® Zoneconnex mobile app.

Once configured, users can:

  • Turn the air conditioning system on and off.
  • Adjust the temperature setpoint.
  • Select the required operating mode.
  • Adjust fan speed where supported by the connected system.
  • Turn individual air conditioning zones on and off.
  • Adjust airflow to individual zones.
  • View zone temperatures where compatible sensors are installed.
  • Create scenes for commonly used settings.
  • Create schedules to automatically activate scenes.
  • Control the system through a compatible mobile device.

1. Connect the TouchPoint LCD to Wi-Fi

  1. On the TouchPoint LCD, select the Wi-Fi icon from the navigation bar.
  2. If no network is currently connected, select Scan Wi-Fi.
  3. Select the required Wi-Fi network from the available networks.
  4. Press Connect.
  5. Enter the Wi-Fi network password using the on-screen keyboard.
  6. Press Connect again.
Once connected:
The Wi-Fi screen will display the network connection details and the Home QR code. This QR code is required when adding the Zoneconnex system to the mobile app.

The connection screen can display:

  • Home QR code
  • Wi-Fi signal strength
  • Connection speed
  • Security type
  • Wi-Fi channel

2. Install the anywAiR® Zoneconnex Mobile App

Download and install the anywAiR® Zoneconnex mobile app on a compatible Android or iOS device.

Important: Before setting up the system in the mobile app, make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the TouchPoint LCD.

3. Create or Log In to Your Account

Open the anywAiR® Zoneconnex app on your mobile device.

Existing Users

  1. Enter your existing login details.
  2. Log in to the app.
  3. Continue to Add Your Home.

New Users

  1. From the login screen, select Sign-Up.
  2. Enter your email address.
  3. Create and confirm your password.
  4. Select Sign-Up.
  5. A verification code / OTP will be sent to the nominated email address.
  6. Enter the verification code into the app.
  7. Select Next once verification is complete.
If the verification code is not received, a new code can be requested after approximately 2 minutes.

4. Add Your Home

  1. On the app's Setup Home screen, select Scan QR Code.
  2. On the TouchPoint LCD, open the Wi-Fi connection screen.
  3. Locate the Home QR code displayed on the TouchPoint LCD.
  4. Scan the QR code using the mobile app.
  5. Enter a name for the home.
  6. Select Add Home.

Once successfully added, the app will open the Main Control screen.

5. Using the TouchPoint LCD

Main Air Conditioning Controls

ControlFunction
PowerTurns the air conditioning system on or off.
ModeSelect Auto, Cool, Heat, Fan or Dry.
TemperatureAdjusts the required temperature setpoint.
Fan SpeedAdjusts indoor fan speed where supported by the connected model.
Temperature DisplayDisplays the setpoint and, where configured, the current temperature.
Note: Current room temperature display must be enabled as part of the installation configuration.

6. Zone Control

The Zone screen provides individual control of the connected ducted zones.

Zone On / OffTurns an individual zone on or off.
Airflow ControlAdjusts individual zone airflow from 0–100% in 5% increments.
Zone TemperatureDisplays the temperature within the zone when a compatible droplet sensor is installed.
Sync ZonesResets the zones to restore correct airflow operation.

When Should I Use Sync Zones?

If airflow through the zones is not operating as expected, select Sync Zones from the Zone screen.

This function resets the zone positions and allows the controller to restore the correct airflow operation.

7. Scenes

A Scene allows frequently used air conditioning settings to be saved together.

A scene can include:

  • Operating mode
  • Temperature setpoint
  • Fan speed
  • Selected zones
  • Zone settings

A saved scene can be activated immediately using Run Scene Now or assigned to a schedule.

8. Schedules

Schedules allow saved scenes to run automatically at selected times and on selected days.

Creating a Schedule

  1. Open the Schedules screen.
  2. Select Create Schedule.
  3. Enter a schedule name.
  4. Select the required day or days.
  5. Select the required activation time.
  6. Save the schedule and continue to the Scene settings.
  7. Create a new Scene or assign an existing Scene.
  8. Configure the required mode, setpoint, fan speed and zones.
  9. Save the Scene.
  10. Ensure the schedule is enabled.

9. Compatibility

The anywAiR® Zone mobile app is compatible with selected GENERAL ducted air conditioning systems when used with the optional anywAiR® Zoneconnex Controller.

Installer Note: Confirm system compatibility and all installation requirements before installing the Zoneconnex controller.

10. Installation & Safety

  • Installation and servicing must only be carried out by authorised and qualified personnel.
  • Always isolate electrical power before wiring or servicing the Zoneconnex Controller or TouchPoint LCD.
  • Only use supplied or approved power supplies, antennas and cables.
  • Do not modify, open or alter the product, as doing so may affect safety and compliance approvals.

11. Cyber Security

  • The Zoneconnex product does not use universal default passwords.
  • Where a password is required, it must be created by the user.
  • Passwords should not be easy to guess.

Potential security vulnerabilities should be reported to the appropriate GENERAL Australia or New Zealand office.

Cyber security support for this product is specified as ending on 1 January 2029.

12. Compliance

The product carries the RCM mark and is stated as complying with the following standards:

  • AS/NZS 62368.1
  • AS/NZS CISPR 32
  • AS/NZS 4268
