Zoneconnex - Quick Start Guide
1. Key features
- Cost-effective Wi-Fi zone control with standalone commissioning.
- Direct connection to the indoor unit PCB UART port.

3. Before you start
To configure a Zoneconnex zone controller, confirm the following:
- The Zoneconnex controller is installed and connected to a compatible air conditioner.
- The air conditioner and Zoneconnex controller can both be powered.
- The anywAiR Zone app is installed on a compatible Apple or Android smartphone or tablet.

These connections are prewired from the factory. The terminals are push-button terminal blocks; use a small flat-blade screwdriver to release and install the cable.

5. Connect Zoneconnex to Wi-Fi
- On the TouchPoint LCD, press the WiFi tab.
- Press Scan WiFi.
- Select the required network and press Connect.
- Enter the network password using the on-screen keyboard.
- Press Connect.
Once connected, the TouchPoint LCD displays network information including:
- QR code
- Signal strength
- Connection speed
- Security type
- Channel
6. Enter Installer Mode
At the TouchPoint LCD
- Press the System Info tab.
- Tap anywhere in the system area of the screen 8 times.
- Enter the dealer password: 898989.
- Confirm to enter Installer Mode.
Connect the phone to Installer Mode
- Once the TouchPoint LCD Installer Mode page is displayed, the LCD emits a Wi-Fi signal.
- Open the anywAiR Zone app.
- Select Continue as Installer.
- Confirm the caution prompt by selecting Continue.
- Scan the Connect WiFi QR code displayed on the TouchPoint LCD. The smartphone connects to the LCD Wi-Fi.
- Scan the API Access QR code to access the installer backend.
- Begin system configuration on the smartphone.
7. Initial zone setup
When Installer Mode is opened for the first time, enter:
- Number of zones: 1 to 10
- Number of relief zones: 0 to 3
Zone configuration options
For each zone, the installer can:
- Name the zone.
- Set it as a Primary Zone where a DROPLET is present.
- Set it as a Relief Zone.
- Adjust minimum airflow.
- Adjust maximum airflow.
- Adjust the zone open-to-close time.
- Assign a DROPLET sensor, if fitted.
Multiple dampers can be connected to the same zone. The training guide notes this can be useful in larger homes where rooms may be at opposite ends of the house.
Summary Zone page
Once the zones have been configured, the Summary Zone page allows the installer to:
- Review commissioned zones.
- Select a zone to edit its settings.
- Add a missed zone using + Add.
- Add and assign DROPLET sensors.
8. DROPLET sensors
DROPLET sensors are optional and are not supplied as standard with the Zoneconnex system.
- Add a DROPLET by scanning its QR code or entering/scanning its UUID (8-character alphanumeric code).
- A DROPLET can remain unassigned and operate as a standalone temperature sensor.
- A DROPLET can be assigned to a zone.
- DROPLETs measure temperature and humidity.
- DROPLETs are not used for VAV control; they are temperature/humidity sensing points.
- A DROPLET can be set as the Primary sensing point instead of the return-air sensor.
- No indoor-unit Function Setting changes are required when using a DROPLET as the Primary sensing point.
9. Installer preferences
The Preferences page provides the following settings:

| Show Current Temperature | Displays the indoor unit return-air temperature on the TouchPoint LCD and smartphone app. |
| Global Damper Stroke Time | Default is 15 seconds open-to-close across all dampers. Adjustment is not recommended unless actual damper travel time has been measured. |
| Firmware Update | Over-the-air update on current firmware. Intended for technician use. |
| Soft Reset | Clears unit credentials, including previous owners, members and guests. Zone and DROPLET configuration remains saved. |
| Factory Reset | Full reset. All device settings are cleared back to factory condition. |
10. Firmware updates
If an update is available while in Installer Mode, the installer may be prompted to update the ACBM and TouchPoint LCD.
Follow the on-screen prompts and wait for the completion notification.
11. Finish installation
- Complete zone configuration, DROPLET setup and preferences.
- Return to the Installer Mode home page.
- Select Finish Installation.
- When prompted, select Accept.
The settings are then saved to the ACBM module and TouchPoint LCD. The TouchPoint LCD returns to the normal home page and the smartphone app exits Installer Mode and returns to the login page.
12. Temperature sensing configuration
- If the supplied UTY-RNRY* wall controller is also installed, it may be configured through the function settings menu as the sensing point.
- The UTY-RNRY* controller operates alongside the Zoneconnex TouchPoint LCD.
- Changes made on either controller are mirrored on the other controller, except for zone control on the UTY controller.
- If a DROPLET is present and configured as Primary, the ACBM logic overrides the UTY-RNRY* as the sensing point.
13. Errors and faults
- The TouchPoint LCD displays air-conditioner error codes in GENERAL's native 2-digit and 3-digit format.
- If the system is disconnected from the cloud, a power cycle of the Zoneconnex and local Wi-Fi router may restore connection.
- A communication issue between the ACBM and indoor unit will generate an error.
- Where an ACBM-to-indoor-unit communication fault is present, control from the TouchPoint LCD home page and smartphone app is not permitted.
