2. Wall-mounted touch screen

The anywAiR app runs on a dedicated wall-mounted Android touch screen. The touch screen acts as the control hub for the anywAiR system and can pivot between portrait and landscape orientation.

• To leave the anywAiR app, press the Android Home button.
• If the screen goes to sleep, double tap a corner of the screen to wake it.
• From the Android home screen, press the large anywAiR icon to reopen the app.

3. Connect the wall touch screen to home Wi-Fi

1. Make sure the home Wi-Fi network is operating and have the Wi-Fi password ready.
2. On the anywAiR wall touch screen, press the Android Home button.
3. Press the Wi-Fi icon.
4. Select the home Wi-Fi network from the list.
5. Enter the Wi-Fi password and confirm.
6. Allow up to approximately 2 minutes for connection. The selected network should show Connected.

Apple devices

Download the anywAiR app from the Apple App Store. An Apple ID is required. The manual specifies that the Apple ID country should be set to Australia or New Zealand.

• Open the App Store and search for anywAiR.
• Select the anywAiR app and install it.
• Ensure the Apple device is connected to the home Wi-Fi when initially pairing with the system.
• If using an older device, update iOS if possible.

Android devices

Download the anywAiR app from Google Play. A Google Account must be added to the Android device before downloading apps.

• Open Google Play and search for anywAiR.
• Select the anywAiR app and install it.
• Ensure the Android device is connected to the home Wi-Fi when initially pairing.
• If using an older device, update Android if possible.

4. Remote access

Remote access allows the system to be controlled from a compatible Apple or Android phone while away from the home Wi-Fi network, using the phone's internet connection. A reliable Wi-Fi connection between the wall touch screen and the home modem/router is required.

Enable or disable Remote Access

1. Open anywAiR on the wall touch screen.
2. Go to Setup > Remote Access.
3. To disable it, move the Remote Access toggle to grey and confirm.
4. To enable it, move the Remote Access toggle to red.
5. Allow up to approximately 5 minutes for the remote access service to initialise.

Pair a phone

With the phone connected to the same home Wi-Fi network as the anywAiR wall touch screen, open the anywAiR app and wait approximately 10 seconds. Once paired, the phone can use remote access when it has an internet connection.

5. Mode page - basic air conditioner operation

The Mode page controls the main air conditioner operation.

6. Zones and temperature control

Open the Zones page to control individual areas of the home. Pressing a zone name toggles that zone ON or OFF. Zones shown grey are OFF.

Airflow zone

If a zone does not have a temperature sensor, it is shown as an Airflow Zone. When the zone is ON, use the - / + controls to adjust airflow in 5% increments.

Temperature zone

If a temperature sensor is installed in the zone, select the desired room temperature with the - / + controls. anywAiR automatically adjusts airflow to help maintain that temperature while the air conditioner is operating.

MainZone

MainZone makes one temperature-controlled zone the primary reference for the air conditioner. The set point and measured temperature from that zone are used by the air conditioner when deciding whether to start, stop, speed up or slow down.

• Any currently ON temperature-controlled zone can be selected as MainZone.
• Press the thermometer symbol beside the desired zone to make it MainZone.
• Only one zone can be MainZone at a time.
• The manual recommends using the largest zone as MainZone when multiple zones are open, and moving MainZone as occupants move through the home.
• MainZone is not available if no zone temperature sensors are installed.

MainTemp

MainTemp automatically selects the open zone with the greatest difference between its actual and desired temperature. When that zone reaches its set point, the system can select another zone.

• MainTemp is available only in cooling or heating.
• Manual MainZone selection is disabled while MainTemp is active.
• Temperature adjustment is performed from the Zones page while MainTemp is active.

AutoMode

AutoMode adds automatic heating/cooling selection to MainTemp-style zone selection. It averages the temperatures of all open zones and aims to keep them within a configured range. The manual gives a default range of 20°C to 24°C, which can be changed in Options.

While AutoMode is active, manual temperature and MainZone changes are not available.

Constant zones

Depending on the installation, one or more zones may be configured as electronic Constant Zones. These are identified by a small C beside the zone name and can open automatically to relieve excess air pressure when too few zones are open.

7. Scenes and Events

Scenes

Scenes save predetermined air conditioning and zone settings so they can be run at the touch of a button or on a schedule. Up to 12 custom scenes can be created.

A scene can include:

• Air conditioner ON/OFF status.
• Temperature, operating mode and fan speed.
• Zone ON/OFF status and zone temperature or airflow.
• MainZone selection.
• Fresh Air status, where applicable.
• Start time, selected days and air conditioner OFF time.

Use Save after making changes. A scene can also be run immediately with Run Now, or deleted using the trash icon.

Events

Events monitor selected conditions during nominated days and times. When all selected conditions are met, the chosen task runs. The wall touch screen must be connected to Wi-Fi, and the suburb postcode must be set in Options before creating weather-based events.

9. Google Home

anywAiR can be linked to Google Home for basic air conditioning control and, where installed, garage door control.

Link anywAiR to Google Home

1. On the phone, make sure Google Home and Google Assistant are installed and updated.
2. Open Google Home and use the option to add a service that works with Google.
3. Search for AnywAiR Ducted and select it.
4. On the anywAiR wall touch screen, open Setup.
5. Enable Google Home, then select the option to pair an account.
6. Generate the one-time access code.
7. Enter the 4-digit code shown on the wall touch screen into the Google Home app.
8. Complete the Google Home prompts and assign the air conditioner to the required room/home.

Supported Google Home functions

• Air conditioner ON/OFF.
• Mode changes.
• Temperature changes.
• Fan speed changes.
• Open/close the garage door where the optional garage interface is installed.

Example voice commands

• “Hey Google, turn on the aircon.”
• “Hey Google, set the aircon to 22 degrees.”
• “Hey Google, change the fan speed to high.”
• “Hey Google, open the garage door.”

Google Home widgets

Google Home widgets can be added to compatible Android and iPhone home screens for quicker access. On Android they can provide direct device controls; on iPhone the widgets function more like shortcuts.

10. Optional garage door control

Where the optional compatible wireless garage controller is installed, anywAiR can display the garage door state and allow the door to be opened or closed from the Mode page.

• Add a new device: Setup > Options > Add new wireless device.
• Garage door alert: Setup > Options > Garage door alert.
• The alert delay can be set so a notification is sent if the garage door remains open longer than the selected period.
• Once an alert is active, the system continues to send a reminder every 30 minutes until the garage door is closed.
• Once linked to Google Home, supported voice commands and Google Home controls can also operate the garage door.
