Using a Sensibo IR controller when the indoor unit is not compatible with UTY-NXT
For older split-system air conditioners operated by an infrared handheld remote controller
Older air conditioners that receive commands from an infrared remote controller may not be compatible with the wired UTY-NXT anywAiR® Technology Wi-Fi Adaptor II. Where UTY-NXT is not supported, a Sensibo infrared controller may provide a practical alternative for app-based control.

Important: A Sensibo IR controller is not a wired UTY-NXT adaptor. It sends infrared commands in the same way as the original handheld remote controller and must be positioned where the indoor unit can receive its signal.
2. Check UTY-NXT compatibility first
Before recommending an infrared controller, confirm the complete indoor-unit model number against the approved UTY-NXT compatibility list. Do not assume compatibility from the appearance, age or product series.

Why the platforms work together: Sensibo developed the UTY-NXT solution used with the myanywAiR® Next platform. This allows supported Sensibo infrared controllers and UTY-NXT devices to operate within the same app environment.
4. Recommended setup process

- Infrared line of sight: The controller must be located where the indoor unit can reliably receive its infrared signal.
- One controller per independently operated indoor unit: Separate indoor units generally require separate Sensibo devices.
- Manual remote use: The original remote may still operate the unit, but infrared systems do not always provide live two-way confirmation of every manual command.
- Power and Wi-Fi: The device requires a continuous power supply and a stable compatible Wi-Fi connection.
- Function availability: Available commands depend on the air-conditioner model and the infrared command set recognised during pairing.
- Third-party product: Purchase, returns and product support for the Sensibo controller are provided by the retailer or Sensibo under their applicable terms.
Do not attempt to install UTY-NXT on an unlisted indoor unit. If the complete indoor-unit model does not appear on the approved compatibility list, the adaptor is not supported unless specific written compatibility advice has been provided.
