FG3 Error – AnywAiR Ducted Controller
Troubleshooting guide for UTY-ANY1 and UTY-ANY2 systems
FG3 meaning: The AnywAiR control box is not communicating with the daughter board or associated indoor-unit control interface. In practical terms, the wall controller cannot see the air-conditioning unit.
Likely components involved
Control box
Main AnywAiR controller interface
Daughter board
Indoor-unit communication interface
Orange link cable
Communication cable between boards
Flow chart 1 – Customer-level FG3 recovery
FG3 appears on the wall controller or mobile app
Wait 5 minutes.
The controller and indoor unit may temporarily be out of synchronisation.
Has FG3 cleared by itself?
YES
Test cooling or heating operation and monitor.
 NO
Proceed with a full power reset.
Turn the air-conditioning system off at the mains for 15 minutes.
Restore power and wait a further 5 minutes
before operating the controller.
Test the system.
FG3 cleared
No further action required. The system had likely fallen out of synchronisation.
 FG3 remains
A technician is required to inspect the communication path.
Flow chart 2 – Technician diagnosis
FG3 remains after the 15-minute power reset
Isolate power and inspect all control-box, daughter-board and orange-link-cable connections.
Check for loose plugs, damaged pins, pinched cable, corrosion, moisture or poor termination.
Reconnect all plugs securely, restore power and wait 5 minutes.
Has FG3 cleared?
YES
Confirm stable operation and secure the cable routing.
 NO
Test using a known-good orange link cable.
Does FG3 clear with the replacement cable?
YES
Replace the orange link cable.
 NO
Replace or further diagnose the control box / daughter board in accordance with technical support direction.
What a successful reset indicates
Where FG3 clears after the 15-minute power reset, the control box and indoor unit were likely temporarily out of synchronisation. A completed customer case confirmed that switching the unit off, restoring power and allowing the system to initialise resolved the active FG3 warning.
Customer response template
FG3 means the AnywAiR controller cannot currently communicate with the air-conditioning unit.

Please switch the air-conditioning system off at the mains for 15 minutes. Restore power, wait another 5 minutes for the controller and indoor unit to reconnect, and then try operating the system again.

If FG3 remains after this reset, a technician will need to inspect the control box, communication cable and daughter board.
Information to capture before escalation
  • Confirm whether the system is UTY-ANY1 or UTY-ANY2.
  • Photo of the FG3 warning on the wall controller or app.
  • Indoor and outdoor model numbers and serial numbers.
  • Whether the 15-minute mains reset was completed and the result.
  • Whether the fault is permanent or intermittent.
  • Any recent power interruption, electrical work or controller work.
  • Condition of the orange link cable and all board connections.
  • Result of testing with a known-good cable, where completed.
