anywAiR Ducted Zone Controller - No Display / Tablet Not Powering Up

Freshdesk troubleshooting flow for UTY-ANY1 and UTY-ANY2 ducted zone controllers when the tablet has no display, is not powering up, or the orange zone control box appears inactive.
Safety position: Testing must be performed by a licensed and competent technician. Isolate before disconnecting wiring. Use suitable PPE and a multimeter set to the correct AC or DC range.

1. Quick voltage reference

ModelTransformer AC output checkDC output checkDiagnosis note
UTY-ANY2Blue and white = 24 V ACRed and black = 24 V DCIf transformer output is missing, replace power supply/transformer.
UTY-ANY1Blue and white = 24 V ACRed and black = 12 V DCDo not apply UTY-ANY2 24 V DC expectation to UTY-ANY1.
Core diagnostic principle: Start at the building supply / GPO, prove power into the transformer, prove transformer output, then check whether the orange zone control box has LEDs. This separates a power supply issue from a zone box, cable or tablet issue.

2. Main no-display flow

Start: anywAiR tablet/controller has no display or does not power up on commissioning
Installer reports no tablet display, no apparent controller power, or no operation from the anywAiR interface.
Step 1 - Confirm roofspace GPO / supply power
Check the roofspace GPO or supply point feeding the anywAiR power supply. If there is no supply, correct the site power issue first.
Decision - Is supply power present at the GPO / feed?
If no, this is a site power issue. If yes, continue.
Step 2 - Test power into transformer / power supply
Confirm power is reaching the anywAiR transformer/power supply input.
Decision - Is power present at transformer input?
If no, check supply cable, plug, connection or upstream wiring. If yes, continue.
Step 3 - Test transformer output
UTY-ANY1 and UTY-ANY2 have different DC output expectations. Use the voltage table above.
If transformer output is missing or incorrectIf transformer output is correct
Diagnosis: Faulty power supply transformer / power supply.

Replace the power supply, then re-test controller operation from the tablet.

Confirm startup and heating/cooling operation if commissioning status allows.
Next step: Move to orange zone control box LED checks.

The issue is no longer the supply transformer if the correct voltage is present.

Go to orange zone box LED flow

3. Orange zone control box LED flow

Start: Correct transformer output voltage is present
Check orange zone control box LEDs
Inspect whether the orange zone box has any LEDs illuminated.
Decision - Are LEDs present on the orange zone box?
No LEDs on orange zone boxLEDs present on orange zone box
Diagnosis: Orange zone box is faulty.

If correct voltage is present at the orange zone control box and there are no LEDs, replace the orange zone box.
Next step: Orange box has power and is alive.

If the screen/tablet still is not powered, check the tablet cable connection and tablet condition.

Go to tablet/cable flow

4. Tablet and cable flow

Start: Orange zone box has LEDs, but tablet/screen is not powered
Step 1 - Check tablet cable is plugged in correctly
Inspect both ends of the cable. Confirm it is fully seated and not loose.
Step 2 - Check for damaged or defective cable
Look for crushed cable, stretched cable, damaged plug, bent pins, poor connection or cable not routed correctly.
Decision - Does the tablet power after cable is reseated or replaced?
Yes - tablet powers upNo - tablet still does not power
Diagnosis: Cable was not plugged in correctly or cable was defective.

Continue commissioning and test unit operation from the tablet.
Diagnosis: Tablet/screen is defective, assuming orange zone box LEDs are present and cabling is confirmed good.

Replace or escalate tablet/screen as applicable.

5. FG4 display note during incomplete commissioning

Do not misdiagnose FG4 as the no-display fault. If the tablet powers up and only displays FG4, confirm whether zone sensors are currently unpaired. FG4 may be present because commissioning is incomplete and sensors still need to be paired.

6. Ticket note template

Suggested ticket note:
Installers reported anywAiR tablet/controller not powering up during commissioning. Roofspace accessed. Supply power checked at GPO/feed and confirmed [OK / not OK]. Power into transformer checked and confirmed [OK / not OK]. Transformer output checked: blue/white [voltage] AC, red/black [voltage] DC. Model confirmed as [UTY-ANY1 / UTY-ANY2]. If transformer output failed, power supply diagnosed faulty and replaced. After replacement, tablet powered up and unit operation tested from tablet. Startup and heating/cooling operation confirmed [OK / not OK]. If tablet displays FG4, note sensors are currently unpaired and installers must complete commissioning, including naming zones and pairing sensors.
Example outcome wording: “Power at roofspace GPO tested OK. Power to transformer tested OK. Transformer output failed. Diagnosed faulty power supply transformer. Replaced power supply, tested operation OK. Unit started from tablet and heating operation confirmed. Tablet currently displaying FG4 due to unpaired sensors; installers to complete commissioning.”
