4) Electrical & Circuit References

This section is intended as a service wiring/PCB reference map for fault tracing and component location.

Circuit Diagram Coverage

  • Outdoor unit overall circuit reference

  • Indoor unit overall circuit reference

  • Indoor PCB circuit reference (control unit)

  • Outdoor PCB circuit reference (inverter assembly / power supply / transistor PCB)

  • Indicator PCB and LED/button layout references

Practical note: The detailed schematic symbol-by-symbol layouts are extensive. For deep PCB-level tracing (connector pinouts, component IDs, IC callouts), attach the source Word file to this article and reference it alongside the on-unit PCB markings.

5) Error Detection & Diagnostics

A) Wired Remote Control – Error Code Display

If an error occurs, the wired controller displays an error code (with “Er” in the set room temperature display) and indicates the indoor unit number.

B) Indicator PCB – Error Display Mapping (Wired Remote / Lamps)

Error display references include:

  • Operation lamp (green)

  • Timer lamp (orange)

  • Eco lamp (green)

Common code groups listed in the source include (examples):

  • Serial communication error

  • Wired remote control communication error

  • Indoor unit capacity error

  • Indoor power supply interruption

  • Manual auto switch error

  • Indoor fan motor driving circuit error

  • Inlet air temp sensor error

  • Indoor heat exchanger middle temp sensor error

  • Drainage error

  • Outdoor unit model information error

  • Inverter error / IPM error

  • Discharge / compressor / outdoor temp / heat sink temp / current sensor faults

  • Pressure sensor error / high pressure switch error

  • Over current / compressor control error

  • Outdoor fan motor 1 / 2 error

  • 4-way valve error

  • Refrigerant system discharge temp error / compressor temp error / low pressure error

C) Outdoor Unit – Indicator PCB LED Pattern Table

The outdoor indicator PCB uses LED states (ON / OFF / blinking) across:

  • POWER, ERROR, PUMP DOWN, LOW NOISE, PEAK CUT, MODE (L1–L6)

Workflow (field use):

  1. Confirm ERROR LED is blinking.

  2. Press ENTER once to step through the detail display.

  3. Match the LED blink counts/states to the fault table to identify the specific error group (communication / sensor / inverter / pressure / motor / valve / refrigerant system).

6) Outdoor Unit – Test Run

Pre-checks (must be confirmed before test run)

  • Outdoor unit securely installed

  • Gas leak inspection completed (joints, brazing/flared connections)

  • Heat insulation completed (gas pipe, liquid pipe, drain extension)

  • Drain discharge confirmed OK

  • Cables connected correctly and meet specification

  • Earth wire correctly connected

  • No airflow obstructions at suction/discharge

  • Correct refrigerant charge confirmed

  • Stop valves fully open (gas & liquid)

  • Crankcase heater energized for more than 6 hours prior to operation

Test Run – Board Button Method (Outdoor Unit Display Board)

  • Enter standby (power ON)

  • Press ENTER for > 3 seconds to enter test run setting mode

  • Use SELECT to toggle COOL / HEAT

    • Perform the first test run in COOL

  • Press ENTER to start test operation

  • To stop: press ENTER again

Operational checks during test run:

  • Abnormal noise/vibration (outdoor)

  • Correct discharge air temp relative to mode (indoor)

  • If ERROR indication occurs, identify via LED patterns and rectify before repeating test

7) Outdoor Unit – Pump Down

Safety Warnings

  • Do not touch electrical components other than the display-board buttons.

  • During pump down, ensure the compressor is OFF before removing refrigerant piping.

  • Do not remove connection pipes while compressor is operating with valves open (risk of abnormal pressure and injury).

Procedure (Board Button Method)

  1. Confirm both 3-way valves (liquid & gas) are open.

  2. Turn power ON.

  3. After 3 minutes from power on, press PUMP DOWN for ≥ 3 seconds.

  4. Unit runs; after ~3 minutes from compressor start, fully close the liquid-side 3-way valve.

  5. When LED state changes again, fully close the gas-side 3-way valve.

  6. Pump down completes; fans and compressor stop automatically.

  7. Turn power OFF.

Notes:

  • To stop pump down: press PUMP DOWN again.

  • If pump down halts due to error: power OFF → open valves → wait 3 minutes → power ON → retry.

  • If pump down cannot be completed, recover refrigerant from the service port.
