Summary: If your Fujitsu split system is set to COOL but only blows air that isn’t cold, the indoor fan may be running while the system isn’t producing cooling. This can be caused by settings, a power/reset issue, or a fault such as low refrigerant (gas) from a leak.
Step 1: Confirm the settings
Set the unit to COOL (snowflake icon), not AUTO.
Set the temperature to 18–20°C.
Set fan speed to HIGH.
Allow 10–15 minutes for cooling to stabilise.
Step 2: Basic checks at home
Clean filters: Dirty filters can reduce performance and contribute to protection shutdowns.
Outdoor unit check: Confirm the outdoor unit is operating (fan spinning / normal operating sound).
Look for icing: Check for ice on the indoor coil (behind filters) or on the outdoor pipework.
Step 3: Perform a safe reset
Turn the system OFF using the remote.
Turn the power OFF at the isolator/switch (or circuit) for 2 minutes.
Turn power back ON, then retry COOL mode.
If it still doesn’t cool
If it’s still blowing room-temperature air after the steps above, service is typically required. Common causes include:
Refrigerant (gas) leak / low refrigerant: Refrigerant does not get “used up”. If it’s low, there is usually a leak that must be located and repaired (a simple top-up without repair often results in repeat failure).
Outdoor unit not operating correctly: Electrical, inverter, compressor, or control faults can prevent cooling.
What happens during service
A technician will typically:
Confirm operation and performance
Check system pressures and temperatures
Conduct leak checks (if indicated)
Repair leak (if found) and recharge to specification
Verify correct cooling output
What we need from you (to speed up support)
Please provide:
Model number (on the indoor unit sticker / under the front cover)
Confirmation it’s on COOL
Whether the outdoor unit is running
Any flashing lights or error codes
Photo/video of the indoor display/error lights and outdoor unit operating
Safety note: Please do not attempt to access internal refrigeration components. Refrigerant handling must be completed by a licensed technician.
