UTY-RNR Child Lock
How to enable or release the Child Lock function
Applies to UTY-RNR range wired remote controllers
The Child Lock prevents accidental operation by disabling touch inputs on the Monitor Mode screen. It can be enabled or released even when the indoor unit is stopped.
1. What the Child Lock does
- Disables touch input on the Monitor Mode screen.
- Does not remove power from the indoor unit.
- Only blocks user interaction with the controller.
Important: You must be on the Monitor Mode screen before the Child Lock can be enabled or released. It cannot be changed from another menu or settings screen.
2. Enable Child Lock

| 1 | Navigate to the Monitor Mode screen. |
| 2 | Touch and hold any blank area outside the operation section of the screen. |
| 3 | While continuing to touch the blank area, press and hold the On/Off button for at least 4 seconds. |
| 4 | Release both. A confirmation beep or indication shows that the lock is active. |
3. Disable / Release Child Lock

| 1 | Confirm the controller is on the Monitor Mode screen. |
| 2 | Touch and hold a blank area outside the operation section. |
| 3 | Press and hold the On/Off button for at least 4 seconds. |
| 4 | Release both to restore normal touch operation. |
4. If it does not work
- Confirm the controller is on Monitor Mode, not a settings or menu screen.
- Repeat the procedure and keep both inputs held for at least 4 seconds.
- Clean and dry the touch surface and use firm fingertip contact.
- Power-cycle the controller at the indoor-unit isolator and repeat the procedure.
- If the controller remains locked, check for a stuck key or screen overlay and escalate for service if required.
Quick reminder: The Child Lock procedure is the same for enabling and disabling the feature - blank screen area + On/Off held for at least 4 seconds while on the Monitor Mode screen.
