Overview

If your AnywAiR Ducted Controller does not have the Advantage Air app preinstalled, or if you need to update it, you can manually install it by sideloading the APK file.

This process involves downloading the correct version of the Advantage Air APK using the built-in Google Chrome browser on your controller and installing it manually.

Getting Started

1. Identify Your System

  • On your wall-mounted AnywAiR touchscreen, locate the app that controls your air conditioning system.

  • Take note of its name and icon — this will help determine which version of the Advantage Air app you need.

  • Ensure you are using the latest version of the Google Chrome browser before proceeding.

APK Installation Steps

Step 1 – Download the APK File

  1. Open Google Chrome on your AnywAiR Ducted Controller.

  2. Go to the Android Apps download page provided by Advantage Air.

  3. Select and download the APK version that matches your system.

During download, you may see security pop-ups.

  • When prompted, tap “Continue”, then “ALLOW.”

  • If asked to confirm the file download, tap “OK.”

Step 2 – Allow Installation from Chrome

  1. Once the download completes, tap “Open.”

  2. If a warning appears, tap “SETTINGS.”
    (Example screen: image007.png)

  3. Enable the toggle next to “Allow from this source” to permit Chrome to install apps.

  4. Press the Back button on the bottom navigation bar to return to the installation screen.

Step 3 – Install the App

  1. Tap “Install.”

  2. Wait for the installation to complete — this may take up to a minute.

  3. When finished, you’ll see a confirmation message.

    • Tap “Open” to launch the Advantage Air app immediately, or

    • Tap “Done” to exit the installer.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • If the installation fails, confirm that you downloaded the correct APK version for your system.

  • Make sure your controller has sufficient storage (at least 200 MB free).

  • Ensure Wi-Fi is active and Chrome has the latest updates.

  • If the “Install” option does not appear, go to:
    Settings → Apps & Notifications → Special Access → Install Unknown Apps → Chrome → Allow from this source.

After Installation

Once the Advantage Air app is installed:

  • The app icon will appear on your home screen.

  • Launch the app and follow on-screen instructions to connect to your ducted system.

  • You can now control zones, temperature, and scheduling directly through the Advantage Air interface.

✅ Tip for Installers:
If you frequently perform APK installations, consider keeping the latest Advantage Air APK file on a USB drive for quick access during field service.
