VRF J Type Commissioning
This article provides a quick-reference guide for commissioning J Series VRF systems, including outdoor unit addressing and indoor unit addressing.

Outdoor Unit Addressing
Each outdoor unit connected to a common VRF wiring network requires a unique address.
- Even where units are not connected as one combined system, it is recommended that each outdoor unit is assigned a unique REF address.
- This makes future connection to a central controller easier.
- It also improves troubleshooting by helping identify individual outdoor units.
When manually addressing outdoor units, Fujitsu recommends starting at 01 for the outdoor units and assigning each unit a unique address.
Refrigerant Circuit Address
The outdoor unit uses rotary switches to set the refrigerant circuit address. The correct switch combination depends on the required address.
Record the selected address for each outdoor unit as part of the commissioning documentation.
Indoor Unit Addressing by PCB
Indoor units can also be manually addressed using the rotary switches located on the indoor unit PCB.
- Confirm the outdoor unit and all indoor units are configured with the same refrigerant circuit address.
- Assign each indoor unit a unique indoor unit address.
- Do not duplicate an indoor unit address on the same refrigerant circuit.
- Set all required addresses while the units are not powered, unless the model-specific procedure states otherwise.
- After changing PCB address settings, power-cycle the applicable units if required for the new settings to take effect.

Commissioning Checklist
- Confirm the correct model-specific installation and technical documentation is available.
- Set the outdoor refrigerant circuit address.
- Assign a unique outdoor unit address where applicable.
- Confirm all indoor units are on the correct refrigerant circuit.
- Assign a unique address to every indoor unit.
- Check for duplicated or missing addresses.
- Power the system and confirm the addressing is recognised correctly.
- Record the final address configuration for future service and controls integration.
