IntesisHome IS-IR-WIFI-1 Setup Guide
Connect a compatible infrared-controlled air conditioner to Wi-Fi for control through a supported anywAiR or IntesisHome app.
Confirm that you have the IntesisHome IS-IR-WIFI-1 module, its supplied power adaptor, your air conditioner remote control, and access to your home Wi-Fi password. The module must have a clear infrared path to the indoor unit.
What the device does
The IntesisHome IS-IR-WIFI-1 is an external infrared controller for compatible air conditioners. Once connected to Wi-Fi and registered in a supported app, it can provide remote access to common functions such as:
- Turning the air conditioner on or off
- Changing the operating mode and temperature
- Adjusting fan speed and airflow direction, where supported
- Creating timers, schedules and scenes
- Viewing room temperature or other available information
Note: Available functions can vary depending on the air conditioner model, app and device configuration.
1. Choose the device location
The module sends infrared commands in the same way as your original air conditioner remote control. It must therefore be positioned where the indoor unit can receive its signal.
- Choose a position beside, below or in front of the indoor unit, generally within 3 metres.
- Before fixing the module in place, stand at the proposed location and operate the air conditioner using its original remote.
- If the air conditioner responds reliably, the location should be suitable.
2. Connect the power
- Connect the module using the supplied USB cable and power adaptor.
- Confirm that the LED illuminates.
- Leave the module powered while completing Wi-Fi configuration and registration.
3. Connect the module to Wi-Fi
You can use WPS where supported by your router, or complete setup manually through a web browser.
Option A - WPS setup
- Press and hold the button on the IntesisHome module for approximately 3 seconds, until the LED begins blinking blue.
- Press the WPS button on your Wi-Fi router.
- Allow the devices time to connect. During setup, the LED may change from blinking blue to blinking red before turning off.
- When the LED turns off, the Wi-Fi connection has been completed.
Option B - Manual browser setup
Use this method when WPS is unavailable, does not connect, or you need to enter the network details manually.
- Open the Wi-Fi settings on your phone, tablet or computer.
- Connect to the temporary network broadcast by the module. The network name may appear as ANYWAIR-I-XXXXX or C-ANYWAIR-I-XXXXX, where the final characters relate to the device.
- Open a web browser and go to ihconfig.com.
- If the setup page does not open, enter http://192.168.4.1 in the address bar.
- Select your home Wi-Fi network. For a hidden network, choose the option to enter the network name or SSID manually.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password exactly as shown on your router or network settings, then select Configure.
- Wait for the module to complete the connection process.
LED status during Wi-Fi setup
| LED status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Steady green | Ready for configuration |
| Blinking green | Checking the configuration |
| Blinking yellow | Downloading or applying configuration |
| Blinking red | Connecting to Wi-Fi |
| LED off | Connected successfully |
| Alternating red and green | Connection error - check the password and Wi-Fi signal |
| Alternating yellow and green | Internet or server connection could not be reached |
4. Configure infrared control
The module must learn or be assigned the correct infrared commands for your air conditioner.
Learning mode
- Press and hold the module button for approximately 4 seconds, until the LED turns white.
- Point the original air conditioner remote at the module.
- Press the remote control's On/Off button.
- A blinking green LED indicates that the command was accepted. If the LED blinks red, repeat the process.
If learning mode is unsuccessful, the air conditioner brand and model may need to be selected manually through the IntesisHome account or configuration interface.
5. Register the device in the app
- Download the supported app identified for your product, such as an applicable anywAiR app or IntesisHome.
- Create an account or sign in to your existing account.
- Select the option to add a new device.
- Scan the QR code where available, or enter the registration code from the device label or supplied sticker.
- Complete the on-screen instructions until the air conditioner appears in the app.
6. Test the system
- Use the app to turn the air conditioner on.
- Change the set temperature or operating mode.
- Confirm that the indoor unit responds with a beep, display change or change in operation.
- If it does not respond, reposition the IntesisHome module and test again.
Because this product controls the air conditioner by infrared, changes made using the original remote may not always be reflected immediately in the app. Available feedback depends on the installed configuration and supported functions.
Resetting the module
Reset the module when changing Wi-Fi networks or when you need to restart the configuration process.
- Press and hold the device button for approximately 10 seconds.
- The LED will blink green during the reset.
- When the LED becomes steady green, the module is ready to be configured again.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| The temporary Wi-Fi network is not visible | Confirm the module is powered and in configuration mode. Reset it if necessary. |
| The setup page will not open | Confirm your phone or computer is still connected to the module's temporary Wi-Fi, then try ihconfig.com or 192.168.4.1. |
| The module will not connect to Wi-Fi | Re-enter the password carefully, move the module closer to the router during setup, and check that the home internet connection is operating. |
| The app does not find the device | Confirm the correct app is being used and that Wi-Fi configuration was completed before registration. |
| The app changes but the air conditioner does not respond | Check that the indoor unit has power, confirm infrared configuration, and reposition the module for a clearer signal path. |
