VRF Outdoor Unit DIP Switch Factory Settings
This article provides a quick reference to the factory DIP switch settings used on selected AIRSTAGE VRF outdoor units.
Important: These are factory-reference settings only. Before changing any DIP switch, confirm the exact outdoor unit model and follow the applicable installation or service manual. Isolate power before changing physical switch settings unless the applicable manual specifically states otherwise.
How to Read the Charts

J-IIIL note: The reference chart states there is no normal model-selection DIP switch setting for Set-3 and Set-4. Set-3 is used for master/slave setting in combination installation, while Set-4 is identified as being for developing use.

Refrigerant Circuit Address
The charts also show the factory position of the two rotary switches used for the Refrigerant Circuit Address. These rotary switches are separate from DIP Set-1 to Set-5 and must be set according to the required refrigerant-system address during installation and commissioning.
Before Changing DIP Switches
- Confirm the full outdoor unit model number.
- Identify the correct VRF generation and chart.
- Confirm whether the chart uses black or white as the selected switch position.
- Record the existing DIP and rotary-switch positions before making changes.
- Confirm whether any switch set is reserved for master/slave, commissioning or development functions.
- After adjustment, complete the applicable addressing / commissioning procedure from the service or installation manual.
