AIRSTAGE Service Monitor Tool UTY-ASSXZ1

Setup, connection, monitoring, recording and data analysis guide
For compatible AIRSTAGE systems using the AIRSTAGE Service Monitor Tool mobile app
The UTY-ASSXZ1 allows technicians to wirelessly view live system data, record operating history, review faults, display charts and inspect the refrigeration cycle from a compatible Android or iOS device.
Electrical safety: Always isolate power before connecting or disconnecting the BLE adapter. Do not allow the USB connection area to contact sheet metal, moisture, dust or conductive debris.

1. Required equipment

ItemRequirement
Smart deviceAndroid phone/tablet or iPhone with Bluetooth enabled.
Mobile appAIRSTAGE Service Monitor Tool, downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
BLE adapterUTY-ASSXZ1 Bluetooth Low Energy communication adapter.
PCB connection cableCorrect Type 1, Type 2 or Type 3 cable for the outdoor control PCB.
Compatible systemAIRSTAGE indoor or outdoor unit with a supported service connection.

2. Install and prepare the app

  1. Open Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  2. Search for AIRSTAGE Service Monitor Tool and install the app.
  3. Open the app and allow Location Information and Device Detection permissions. The app may not operate without these permissions.
  4. Read and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
  5. The app will open on the LIST screen ready for connection.

3. Connect the BLE adapter

Connector types: Type 1 - PA connector, 6-pin; Type 2 - PA connector, 10-pin; Type 3 - PA connector, 12-pin.
1Isolate power to the outdoor unit using the isolation switch or circuit breaker.
2Select the correct cable and connect the BLE adapter to the connector labelled FLASH on the outdoor unit control PCB.
3Reapply power. The adapter LED should blink rapidly, approximately twice every four seconds.
4In the app, tap the Bluetooth Connection button.
5Select the detected adapter and tap Connect.
6When connected, the app status bar turns green, the LIST screen appears and the adapter LED changes to a solid light.
Only one mobile device can be connected to the BLE adapter at a time.

4. Monitor live system data

The bottom toolbar provides access to the following screens:

ButtonFunction
ListDisplays live operating data such as temperatures, pressures, fan speed and compressor speed.
ChartPlots selected parameters over time.
Refrigeration cycleDisplays a graphical refrigeration-cycle view of outdoor and indoor unit data.
SettingsChanges pressure units, temperature units, date format and firmware settings.

The default operating mode is Monitoring Mode. Data normally updates about once per second, although the actual update rate can vary by model.

5. Record and save operating data

Recording mode

  • Switch from Monitoring Mode to Recording Mode at the top of the LIST screen.
  • Select a recording interval from 1 to 60 seconds. The default interval is 5 seconds.
  • At a 5-second interval, the estimated recording period is approximately 9.2 minutes.
  • The tool can store up to five different error types.
  • Where the same error occurs repeatedly, one history entry is retained and the occurrence count increases.

Save data

  1. Tap SAVE.
  2. Confirm or change the file name.
  3. The default naming format is HIST_YYYY-MM-DD_hhmmss.
  4. Save the file to the smart device. It can then be transferred by email, Bluetooth or another supported sharing method.
Unsaved temporary error history may be deleted when the app is closed. Save the data before leaving the app.

6. Load and analyse saved data

Load a saved file

  1. Disconnect the Bluetooth connection.
  2. Tap LOAD.
  3. Select the required saved .hst file.
  4. The saved data will reopen in the LIST screen for review.

Chart display

  • Display up to three charts at the same time.
  • Tap CONFIG, choose the Y-axis unit and select the item to display.
  • Typical items include compressor speed, pressure and temperature.
  • With Auto Update enabled, the chart continuously displays the latest 10 minutes of data.

Refrigeration-cycle display

The cycle screen provides a graphical view of outdoor-unit pressures and temperatures, along with indoor-unit data such as inlet temperature, heat-exchanger temperature, set-point, operating mode and request code.

7. Settings and firmware updates

  • Pressure units: MPa or psi.
  • Temperature units: Celsius or Fahrenheit.
  • Date format: month/day/year, date/month/year or year/month/date.
  • Access the app user manual, terms, privacy policy and licence information.

When new BLE adapter firmware is available, the app will display a notification. Open Settings, select Firmware Update, confirm the update and wait until progress reaches 100%. Tap Close when complete.

8. Adapter installation and Bluetooth range

  • Secure the adapter inside the outdoor-unit chassis using double-sided tape, Velcro or suitable magnetic pads.
  • Keep the adapter and USB connection clear of sheet metal edges and high-voltage components.
  • The approximate Bluetooth range is up to 10 metres.
  • Walls, panels and metal obstructions can reduce range. Move the smart device closer if a weak-signal warning appears.

9. Troubleshooting

SymptomCheck
Adapter not detectedConfirm the correct FLASH cable is fitted, the unit has power and the adapter LED is blinking.
App will not scanConfirm Bluetooth, Location Information and Device Detection permissions are enabled.
Cannot connectConfirm no other smart device is currently connected to the adapter.
Weak signalMove closer to the adapter and reduce metal or structural obstructions.
Error disappears from screenThe active error display clears automatically when the fault condition is released. Check error history and save the data if required.
Saved file will not loadDisconnect Bluetooth first, then select LOAD and confirm the file is in the supported .hst format.

Best practice: Confirm safe connection, maintain a reliable Bluetooth signal, record sufficient operating time, save the data before closing the app and review pressures, temperatures and compressor operation together rather than relying on a single value.
Product compatibility, app functions and screen layouts may change with software or firmware updates. Refer to the latest official product documentation where required.
