1. Prerequisites

Before beginning setup, please ensure the following:

  • You have two devices available:

    • Device A – to create the mobile hotspot.

    • Device B – to perform the setup and configuration via the myanywAiR Next app.
(A single device cannot provide the hotspot and configure the adapter simultaneously.)

  • Your mobile hotspot operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency band, as the AnywAiR Next adapter is not compatible with 5 GHz networks.

  • You have installed the myanywAiR Next app:

2. Enable and Configure the Mobile Hotspot

For iPhone

  1. Navigate to Settings → Personal Hotspot.

  2. Toggle “Allow Others to Join.”

  3. Enable “Maximize Compatibility” — this forces the hotspot to use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

  4. Note the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password.

For Android

Android devices vary by manufacturer; however, you can generally:

  1. Open Settings → Network & Internet → Hotspot & Tethering → Wi-Fi Hotspot.

  2. Confirm the network name (SSID) and password.

  3. Ensure the frequency band is set to 2.4 GHz.

    • If the option isn’t visible, refer to the methods below.

3. Ensuring a 2.4 GHz Connection (Android-Only Methods)

If your Android phone defaults to 5 GHz, try one of these approaches:

Option 1: Temporarily Disable 5 GHz on Your Router

  • Log into your router or modem’s settings (refer to its manual).

  • Disable the 5 GHz band.

  • Connect your Android device to the 2.4 GHz network.

  • Complete the setup, then re-enable 5 GHz.

Option 2: Create a Separate 2.4 GHz SSID

  • Access your router’s Wi-Fi configuration page.

  • Create a second network name (e.g., MyWiFi_2.4GHz).

  • Connect to that network and proceed.

Option 3: Force 2.4 GHz on Android (if supported)

  • Go to Wi-Fi Settings → Current Network → Advanced Options.

  • Look for “Frequency Band” or “Network Type.”

  • Select 2.4 GHz only.

Option 4: Use a Wi-Fi Analyzer App

  • Download a Wi-Fi analyzer from the Google Play Store.

  • Check the active frequency band.

  • If on 5 GHz, switch to another network operating at 2.4 GHz.

4. Pairing the AnywAiR Next Adapter

  1. Power on the air-conditioning system and plug in the AnywAiR Next Wi-Fi adapter.

  2. On Device B (setup phone/tablet), connect to the hotspot created by Device A.

  3. Open the myanywAiR Next app.

  4. Tap “Add Device” → “Wi-Fi Adapter (Dongle).”

  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to:

    • Confirm your 2.4 GHz network name and password.

    • Put the adapter into pairing mode (indicator light flashes rapidly).

  6. The app will detect and connect the adapter to the hotspot.

  7. Once setup completes, you’ll receive a success notification.

5. Controlling the AC via Hotspot

After successful pairing:

  • You can now use the same phone that provides the hotspot (Device A) to control your air conditioner through the app.

  • Ensure the hotspot remains active whenever you wish to access or control the system remotely.
