Summary

Most Fujitsu highwall indoor units include a manual/auto button on the fascia. It lets you (a) start/stop the unit, (b) run an Auto program at a fixed 23 °C target, or (c) enter Forced Cooling for service/testing. Use the timings below to operate it safely.

Where to find the button

  • Open the front panel (lift from the bottom edge).

  • Look along the right-hand side of the display/PCB area for a small “MANUAL/AUTO” or “ON/OFF” push button (sometimes a tiny tactile switch).

  • On some models it’s recessed; use a pen tip.

Button functions (timed press)

  • Short press (tap): Start/Stop the unit.

  • Press 2–4 seconds: Auto at 23 °C

    • If room temp > 23 °C → unit cools.

    • If room temp < 23 °C → unit heats.

  • Press ≥ 10 seconds: Forced Cooling (maximum cooling output), ignores room temperature.

To exit Forced Cooling: press the button again to stop, or power-cycle the indoor unit, or send any command from a remote (if available).

Indications you’ll see

  • Operation lamp turns on when running; may flash briefly at start.

  • In Forced Cooling, fan and compressor ramp high; louvers move to a typical cooling position.

Safety & usage notes

  • Forced Cooling is for testing/commissioning only. Do not leave it running unattended—risk of coil icing or condensate carry-over if the room is already cool.

  • Avoid using Forced Cooling at low ambient outdoor temperatures.

  • Auto 23 °C is a simple fallback; it will not follow custom schedules, timers, or special modes.

  • If the unit doesn’t start:

    • Confirm mains power and isolator/fuse.

    • Ensure front panel is properly closed (some models have a panel interlock).

    • Check that there’s no active error code (operation/timer lamp patterns).

    • If wired controller or BMS is fitted, local manual control may be disabled.

Return to normal operation

  • Once a remote is available, send any command (e.g., Power OFF, then Power ON) to resume standard control with your chosen mode, setpoint, and fan.
