Why Defrost Happens
When the outdoor temperature is very low and humidity is high, frost may form on the outdoor unit during heating operation. This can reduce airflow through the outdoor coil and affect heating performance.
What the Air Conditioner Does
When frost builds up, the air conditioner temporarily stops normal heating operation and automatically runs a defrost cycle.
The defrost cycle may operate for up to approximately 15 minutes, depending on operating conditions and the amount of frost present.
What You May Notice
