UTY-FGAN1 – LED Flash Code Guide
UART Wi-Fi adaptor setup, connection status and fault diagnosis
Important: The LED sequence shows the current setup stage of the Wi-Fi adaptor. Allow up to two minutes for each blinking stage before treating the indication as a fault.
Network requirement: Use a stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. The UTY-FGAN1 does not support connection to a 5 GHz-only network.
1. Overview
The UTY-FGAN1 is a UART Wi-Fi adaptor used to connect compatible GENERAL air conditioning systems to supported mobile control platforms, including IntesisHome or anywAiR applications, depending on the product and regional configuration.
During initial setup, the adaptor LED changes colour and flashing pattern to indicate whether the device is ready for configuration, checking stored settings, connecting to the router, contacting the server, or operating normally.
2. Standard setup sequence
Normal progression
Green steady Not configured
Green blinking Checking
Yellow blinking Configuring
Red blinking Connecting
LED off Connected and working
Green blinking Checking
Yellow blinking Configuring
Red blinking Connecting
LED off Connected and working
| LED colour / pattern | Status | Meaning and action |
|---|---|---|
| Green – steady | Not configured | The adaptor is powered and ready to be configured through the applicable mobile application. |
| Green – blinking | Checking | The adaptor is checking stored configuration parameters. Allow up to two minutes. |
| Yellow – blinking | Configuring | The adaptor is writing or downloading configuration information. Wait up to two minutes and do not remove power. |
| Red – blinking | Connecting | The adaptor is attempting to connect to the Wi-Fi access point and remote server. Allow up to two minutes. |
| Off | Connected and working | Configuration is complete and communication has been established. |
3. Extended LED colours
Some IntesisHome configuration processes use additional colours during WPS pairing and device identification.
| LED colour | Behaviour | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Blue | Blinking | WPS connection is being performed. Allow up to two minutes. |
| Magenta | Blinking | WPS connection error or unsuccessful pairing attempt. |
| White | Blinking | The application is identifying the IntesisHome device. |
| Green | Steady | Not configured; the adaptor is ready for setup. |
| Green | Blinking | Checking configuration parameter values. Allow up to two minutes. |
| Yellow | Blinking | Downloading or updating configuration from the server. Allow up to two minutes. |
| Red | Blinking | Connecting to the access point and remote server. Allow up to two minutes. |
4. Alternate-blink error codes
| LED combination | Pattern | Likely cause | Corrective action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red ↔ Green | Alternating blink | Wi-Fi password, authentication, or router connection error. | Confirm the network name and password, ensure the correct 2.4 GHz network is selected, then repeat setup. |
| Yellow ↔ Green | Alternating blink | The adaptor has connected to the router but cannot reach the internet or remote server. | Confirm the router has internet access, check firewall or isolation settings, and retry when connectivity is restored. |
5. Technician troubleshooting workflow
| Step | Check | Required action |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Confirm the LED pattern | Observe the colour and whether it is steady, blinking, alternating, or off. |
| 2 | Allow the setup stage to finish | Wait up to two minutes for green, yellow, red, blue, or white blinking stages. |
| 3 | Verify Wi-Fi band | Ensure the customer is connecting to a 2.4 GHz network and not a 5 GHz-only SSID. |
| 4 | Check signal strength | Aim for router signal strength better than approximately -70 dBm at the indoor unit location. |
| 5 | Verify credentials | Re-enter the Wi-Fi password carefully. Passwords are case-sensitive. |
| 6 | Check internet access | Confirm another device can access the internet through the same router. |
| 7 | Reset and recommission | Where required, hold the adaptor reset control for approximately 10 seconds, then repeat the app setup process. |
Do not repeatedly reset the adaptor during a normal blinking stage. A reset should only be performed after the current process has been allowed to complete or when a persistent error indication has been confirmed.
6. Information to collect before escalation
- Indoor and outdoor model numbers.
- Wi-Fi adaptor model and serial number, where available.
- Exact LED colour and flashing pattern.
- Mobile device type and operating-system version.
- Application name and version.
- Router brand and model.
- Confirmation that a 2.4 GHz network is enabled.
- Screenshot of the app error message.
- Steps already attempted, including any reset or router restart.
7. Quick reference
| Ready to configure | Green steady |
| Normal setup activity | Green, yellow, red, blue, or white blinking for up to two minutes |
| Wi-Fi password error | Alternating red and green |
| Internet/server unavailable | Alternating yellow and green |
| Successfully connected | LED off |
Technical note: Application names, screens and available functions may vary by product generation, market and server platform. Always confirm unit and adaptor compatibility before commissioning.
