Overview
The UTB-TUB wired remote controllers (models AR-3TA3 and AR-3TA12) have been discontinued.
As a direct replacement, the UTB-TUD (model AR-6TC2) can be used as a compatible substitute with a simple DIP-switch configuration adjustment.
Required Setting
Before installation, set DIP switch 1-1 on the UTB-TUD main PCB from ‘OFF’ to ‘ON’.
This enables compatibility with systems originally designed for the UTB-TUB.
| Switch Bank | Switch No. | Function | Position | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SW1 | 1-1 | Compatibility mode | ON | Enables UTB-TUB replacement |
⚙️ Important: The DIP switch is located inside the controller housing near the PCB edge (see red-circled locations in the reference images). Always set before wiring and powering the unit.
Function Comparison
| Function | UTB-TUD | UTB-TUB |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Compatibility / Master link | ✔ (1 = Compat., 2 = Master/Slave) | ✔ (1 = Master/Slave, 2 = Master/Slave) |
| 3. Filter reset display | ✔ | ✖ |
| 4–5. Reserved / Auto changeover | Fixed | Heat-pump or Auto changeover configurable |

Note: Functions 4 and 5 on UTB-TUD are factory-set and must not be adjusted.
Installation Notes
Ensure compatibility DIP switch is set prior to installation.
Follow standard wiring protocols using the same terminal arrangement as the UTB-TUB.
After installation, confirm normal communication and display operation.
The UTB-TUD supports master–slave combinations where multiple controllers share one indoor unit.
