UTB-TUD as a Replacement for UTB-TUB

Required DIP-switch setting and function comparison
Replacement guidance for discontinued UTB-TUB wired remote controllers
The UTB-TUD wired remote controller can be used as a substitute for the discontinued UTB-TUB. Before installation, compatibility mode must be enabled on the UTB-TUD by changing DIP switch 1-1 from OFF to ON.
Isolate power before opening the controller or changing DIP switches. The compatibility setting must be completed before wiring and energising the replacement controller.

Important: Switches 4 and 5 on the UTB-TUD are not field-adjustable replacement equivalents for the UTB-TUB functions. Leave these switches in their documented factory positions.

4. Installation procedure

1Isolate power to the indoor unit and controller circuit.
2Open the UTB-TUD housing and locate DIP switch bank SW1 near the PCB edge.
3Move DIP switch 1-1 from OFF to ON.
4Transfer the controller wiring in accordance with the applicable indoor-unit wiring diagram and controller installation instructions.
5Restore power and confirm normal display, communication and indoor-unit operation.
6Where two controllers are installed, confirm the master/slave setting is correct and that only one controller is configured as master.

5. Verification checklist

☐ DIP switch 1-1 is set to ON.
☐ Switches 4 and 5 have not been altered.
☐ Controller powers up without a communication error.
☐ Operating mode, set temperature and fan controls respond correctly.
☐ Master/slave operation has been checked where applicable.
