Overview
This procedure details how to manually clear system errors from the VRF outdoor unit control PCB using the onboard Mode, Select, and Enter switches.
The method applies to Fujitsu Airstage VRF outdoor systems, allowing technicians to clear general system faults and specific indoor unit shortage errors (14.2 / 14.5) directly from the outdoor unit without a service tool.
1. Control Board Layout
Refer to the figure below (see attached image) for the switch and display layout on the outdoor PCB.
| Component | Description |
|---|---|
| LED105 (Green) | Power / Mode indicator |
| LED104 (Red) | Error indicator |
| 7-Segment Display | Displays codes and status messages |
| SW107 (MODE / EXIT) | Used to enter mode selection |
| SW106 (SELECT) | Used to scroll through functions |
| SW108 (ENTER) | Used to confirm and execute functions |
2. Clearing a General Error
Procedure
On the outdoor PCB, press the MODE (SW107) button once.
→ The 7-segment display will flash F1.Press the SELECT (SW106) button twice.
→ The display will flash F3.Press ENTER (SW108) once.
→ The display will show 00.Press SELECT (SW106) repeatedly until 40 is displayed.
Press and hold ENTER (SW108).
→ The display will show DONE, confirming that the system error memory has been cleared.
3. Clearing an Indoor Unit Shortage Error (14.2 / 14.5)
If the outdoor unit is showing an Indoor Unit Shortage Error, perform the following sequence:
Press MODE (SW107) → Display flashes F1.
Press SELECT (SW106) twice → Display flashes F3.
Press ENTER (SW108) → Display shows 00.
Press SELECT (SW106) until 41 is displayed.
Press and hold ENTER (SW108).
→ The display will show DONE, confirming the indoor shortage error has been cleared.
4. Combined Reset
If unsure which fault type is stored, both steps (codes 40 and 41) can be performed sequentially without harm.
This ensures that both general system faults and indoor communication shortage faults are cleared simultaneously.
5. Important Notes
Always perform this procedure after resolving the underlying fault to prevent recurrence.
Power must remain ON during the process.
After clearing, restart the system to confirm no error codes reappear.
If the “DONE” message does not appear, verify button timing and sequence accuracy.
Persistent errors may indicate hardware damage on the main PCB or communication line.
