VRF Error Code Reset Procedure
Clearing stored faults from the outdoor unit PCB
For applicable General / AIRSTAGE VRF outdoor systems equipped with MODE/EXIT, SELECT and ENTER switches
This procedure explains how to clear general stored errors and indoor unit shortage errors directly from the VRF outdoor unit control PCB. The fault must be diagnosed and corrected before the error memory is cleared.
Qualified service personnel only: The outdoor unit must remain energised while the reset sequence is performed. Observe electrical safety requirements and do not touch live terminals or exposed conductive components.
1. Outdoor PCB controls

Important: The switch references above match the attached PCB illustration. Some older documents may use different switch numbers, so always follow the labels printed beside the switches on the actual board.
2. Clear a general stored error - Function 40
| 1 | Press MODE / EXIT (SW107) once. The display flashes F1. |
| 2 | Press SELECT (SW108) twice until F3 is displayed. |
| 3 | Press ENTER (SW109) once. The display changes to 00. |
| 4 | Press SELECT repeatedly until 40 is displayed. |
| 5 | Press and hold ENTER until DONE appears. |
Function 40 clears the general system error memory after the underlying fault has been rectified.
3. Clear indoor unit shortage errors 14.2 / 14.5 - Function 41
| 1 | Press MODE / EXIT (SW107) once. The display flashes F1. |
| 2 | Press SELECT (SW108) twice until F3 is displayed. |
| 3 | Press ENTER (SW109) once. The display changes to 00. |
| 4 | Press SELECT repeatedly until 41 is displayed. |
| 5 | Press and hold ENTER until DONE appears. |
Functions 40 and 41 may be completed one after the other when both the general fault memory and an indoor unit shortage record need to be cleared.
4. Verification after reset

| Display confirmation | The display shows DONE after the ENTER button is held. |
| System restart | Restart the system and confirm normal initialisation. |
| Fault recurrence | No error code returns during start-up or operation. |
| Persistent fault | Recheck the original fault, indoor unit quantity, addressing and communication wiring. |
Do not use the reset as a repair: If the error returns, the cause remains active. Repeatedly clearing the code may remove useful diagnostic history without resolving the system fault.
