To clear a error on a VRF system please follow the below steps:
From the outdoor unit press 'Mode'
Unit will flash F1
Press 'Select' twice until screen flashes F3
press 'enter' (unit will flash 00)
press 'select' till 40 is displayed
hold 'enter'
LED display will display DONE
If your unit is displaying a Indoor unit shortage error (14.2 or 14.5) the following process should be followed to clear the error.
From the outdoor unit press 'Mode'
Unit will flash F1
Press 'Select' twice until screen flashes F3
press 'enter' (unit will flash 00)
press 'select' till 41 is displayed
hold 'enter'
LED display will display DONE
If in doubt both functions can be completed.
