Setting the Remote Controller – 2 Wire and 3 Wire

How to configure the indoor PCB for either a 2-wire or 3-wire wall controller
The ARTG54LHTDP can use either a 3-wire or 2-wire wired remote controller, depending on the controller selected. The indoor PCB DIP switch must be set to match the controller type.
1. Overview
Two-wire or three-wire wall controllers may be an option for the indoor unit.
Always refer to the applicable installation manual to confirm whether 2-wire or 3-wire control is supported for the specific indoor unit.
Important: If the DIP switch is set incorrectly, the wired controller may be blank or display an error.
2. Indoor PCB DIP Switch
The ARTG54LHTDP indoor PCB includes a DIP switch used to select the wired remote controller type.

Factory configuration: The ARTG54LHTDP is supplied with the DIP switch set for 3-wire operation.
3. 3-Wire Remote Controller Setup
The UTY-RVNYN 3-wire wired remote controller is supplied with the ARTG54LHTDP.
3-Wire Connection

For the supplied 3-wire controller:
- Connect the controller cable to Y1, Y2 and Y3.
- Leave the indoor PCB DIP switch in the 3 WIRE position.
- This is the factory setting.
4. 2-Wire Remote Controller Setup
If a 2-wire remote controller is required on the ARTG54LHTDP, the optional UTY-RNRYZ3 controller must be purchased.
2-Wire Connection

| 2 | Connect the two remote controller wires to the applicable Y1 and Y2 terminals. |
| 3 | Change the indoor controller PCB DIP switch from the factory 3 WIRE position to 2 WIRE. |
| 4 | Restore power and confirm that the wired remote controller starts normally without a blank display or controller error. |
ARTG54LHTDP: The UTY-RNRYZ3 2-wire controller is optional. When installing it, the indoor PCB DIP switch must also be changed to the 2 WIRE setting.

Troubleshooting: If a newly installed wired controller is blank or displaying an error, confirm that the controller type, terminal wiring and 2 WIRE / 3 WIRE DIP switch position all correspond.
