UTY-RNRY* – How to View an Error Code
2-wire remote controller fault display procedure
Applicable to UTY-RNRY series wired remote controllers, including UTY-RNRYZ3.
When the air conditioning system detects a fault, a hazard symbol appears beside the time on the UTY-RNRY remote controller. The remote controller can then be used to display the active error code.
How to display the error code
| Step | Action | What you should see |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Stop operation of the air conditioner. | The remote controller remains powered. |
| 2 | Check the top of the display beside the time. | A hazard/warning symbol indicates that the system is in fault. |
| 3 | Press Status. | The Status screen opens. |
| 4 | Select Error Information. | The Error Information screen opens. |
| 5 | Read and record the displayed error code. | The active error code is listed on screen. |
Important: Record the complete error code exactly as displayed. Some faults may also be confirmed at the outdoor unit using the outdoor-unit status LEDs or display.
Example display
The source example shows the Error Information screen listing:
Example only
14, 15, 41, 44
These values are shown only as an example of how fault information may appear on the controller. Diagnose the actual error code displayed on the system being serviced.
What to do after obtaining the code
- If applicable, confirm the fault indication on the outdoor unit.
- Refer to the relevant service manual for the indoor and outdoor unit model being worked on.
- Refer to the UTY-RNRY controller operation or installation manual where controller-specific information is required.
- Do not diagnose the fault from the controller display alone; follow the troubleshooting procedure for the displayed code.
Service personnel: Electrical and refrigeration fault diagnosis should only be carried out by suitably qualified personnel using the applicable service documentation and safe isolation procedures.
