UTY-RNNYN Error Display
How to enter self-diagnosis and read an error code
For UTY-RNNYN 3-wire wired remote controllers
When the remote controller displays E:EE, an error has been detected. Use the controller's self-diagnosis function to display the unit number and error code.
1. Enter self-diagnosis
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Stop the air conditioner operation. |
| 2 | Press the SET TEMP ▲ and ▼ buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds or more. |
| 3 | The remote controller will enter self-diagnosis and display the unit number and error code. |
Important: Record the complete error code before leaving self-diagnosis. The error code must then be interpreted using the service information applicable to the indoor/outdoor unit being serviced.
2. Reading the display
| Display item | What it means |
|---|---|
| Unit number | Identifies the unit associated with the fault. The source information notes this is usually 0. |
| Error code | Identifies the detected fault. Refer to the applicable model service manual or controller documentation for the meaning of the code. |
Exit self-diagnosis
Press the SET TEMP ▲ and ▼ buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds or more to stop self-diagnosis.
3. Additional fault checks
- If applicable, confirm the fault indication at the outdoor unit. Some models use outdoor PCB LEDs to indicate fault status.
- Compare the remote controller code with the applicable indoor and outdoor unit diagnostic information.
- Refer to the relevant service manual, remote controller operating manual and installation manual for the model being serviced.
