IS-IR-WIFI-FG AnywAiR IR Blaster - Setup and Testing
Power, Wi-Fi connection, account registration, IR learning and signal testing
Use this procedure to set up and test the IS-IR-WIFI-FG IR Wi-Fi device before replacing the product.
Before starting: Install the AnywAiR app on a compatible smart device, create or access the required account, and confirm that the smart device can connect to the local Wi-Fi network.
1. Check power to the IR blaster
Check whether an LED is illuminated on the device.
| Result | Action |
|---|---|
| No LED | Press the manual AUTO button once and check whether the LED flashes. |
| LED present | Power is present. Continue with the LED status checks. |
| Still no LED | Replace or test the 5 V DC power supply and check the device again. |
2. LED status and Wi-Fi setup
Flashing red: The device is searching for router/server access.
- Press and hold the button for approximately 10 to 15 seconds to clear the current network connection.
- Use this when the device needs to connect to a different router or is attempting to reconnect to a router that is no longer available.
Solid green: The device is broadcasting its Wi-Fi connection and is ready for setup.
- Open the Wi-Fi settings on the smart device.
- Connect to the IR blaster's broadcast network, shown as DEVICE xxxxx.
- Open the AnywAiR app and ensure you are logged in.
- Open Settings and select the + icon.
- Follow the prompts to connect the IR blaster to the local router.
During setup the red LED will flash. After the device connects successfully to the router, the LED will no longer remain displayed.
3. Add the device to the AnywAiR account
- Open the Control section of the AnywAiR app.
- Select the + icon in the top-right corner.
- Where supported, scan the barcode on the supplied sticker. Do not use the sticker attached directly to the device where the procedure specifies the supplied registration sticker.
- If the supplied sticker is unavailable, select Enter manually and enter the 25-character ID shown on the bottom of the device, in groups of five characters.
Unit already assigned: The IR blaster is registered to another user. It must be removed from the previous account before it can be registered to a new account.
If the device is physically available but cannot be released from the previous account, escalate through the appropriate product support process for server-side release.
Identification tip: After adding the device, use Edit Device to give it a clear name. Including the last four digits of the device ID can help identify multiple IR blasters on the same account.
4. IR learning
Option A - Use a preloaded remote-control code
Preloaded remote-control codes can be selected through:
Settings > Devices > Select Device > Edit Device > Subfamily > Model
Select the required model from the available remote-control codes.
Option B - Perform IR Learn
- Press and hold the manual AUTO button for approximately 5 seconds.
- Using the original air-conditioner remote control, send an ON or OFF command directly towards the IR blaster.
- The LED will flash to indicate that the IR command has been received.
- Allow approximately 1 minute for the learning process to complete.
5. Confirm IR signal transmission
- Press the manual button on the rear of the device.
- The device will select Cool mode and the blue LED will remain on.
- Confirm that the air conditioner responds to the transmitted command.
- Confirm that commands are also transmitted when operating the system from the AnywAiR app.
- Where required, use another IR-capable device or suitable test method to confirm that an IR signal is being emitted.
6. Quick diagnostic summary
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| No LEDs / no response | Check 5 V DC power supply and manual AUTO response. |
| Flashing red continuously | Check router access. Clear the stored network and reconnect if required. |
| Solid green | Device is ready for Wi-Fi setup. |
| Unit already assigned | Remove it from the previous user's account or escalate for account release. |
| Connected but A/C does not respond | Check selected remote code, repeat IR Learn and confirm IR transmission. |
Important: Verify power, Wi-Fi registration, account assignment and IR transmission before determining that the IS-IR-WIFI-FG device requires replacement.
Technical information should be checked against the applicable product documentation and current AnywAiR app workflow where the app interface has changed.
