Human Sensor
Automatic occupancy detection and energy-saving operation
Applicable to Fujitsu KMTC, KMCA, KMTA and KUCA models
The Human Sensor is located on the front of applicable Fujitsu indoor units. It detects movement in the room and allows the air conditioner to determine whether the space is occupied or unoccupied.
1. Applicable Models
The Human Sensor is located on the front of the following Fujitsu model ranges:
- KMTC
- KMCA
- KMTA
- KUCA
2. How the Human Sensor Works
The Human Sensor monitors movement in the room.
If the sensor detects that the room has been unoccupied for more than 20 minutes, the air conditioner automatically enters an energy-saving mode.

Automatic recovery: Once the Human Sensor detects that the room is occupied again, the air conditioner automatically returns to its normal operating condition.
3. Energy-Saving Temperature Adjustment
When the room has been unoccupied for 20 minutes, the Human Sensor changes the effective set temperature to reduce the amount of work required from the air conditioner.

| Heating | Set temperature is automatically lowered by 4°C |
Example – Cooling
If the air conditioner is set to 22°C in cooling mode and the room remains unoccupied for 20 minutes, the energy-saving control effectively changes the set temperature to 24°C.
Example – Heating
If the air conditioner is set to 22°C in heating mode and the room remains unoccupied for 20 minutes, the energy-saving control effectively changes the set temperature to 18°C.
Why this saves energy: By relaxing the temperature target while the room is unoccupied, the air conditioner does not need to work as hard to maintain the original set point.
