Overview
The KMTC model range supports a Demo Mode feature that allows the indoor unit to operate without triggering communication errors, even when not connected to an outdoor unit.
This function is useful for training, display, and diagnostic applications where unit behavior needs to be demonstrated independently.
Once activated, the unit remains in Demo Mode until power is removed (e.g., unplugged or breaker turned off).
1. Key Notes Before Starting
Read through all steps before beginning the process.
When using the infrared remote controller, always aim directly at the unit’s receiver.
Each command is confirmed by an audible beep.
When changing modes (e.g., from FAN → COOL), do not pause on intermediate modes; transitions must be done continuously, with each mode change confirmed by a beep.
Demo Mode will deactivate automatically if power is disconnected or interrupted.
2. Step-by-Step Procedure
Step 1 – Prepare the Controller
Power on the indoor unit using the remote controller.
Set the operating mode to FAN.
Leave the controller switched ON and in FAN mode throughout the setup process.
Step 2 – Prepare the Indoor Unit
Unplug the unit (or turn off the isolating switch) to reset power.
Wait 10 seconds, then reconnect power.
Immediately press and hold the “Manual Auto” button located on the indoor unit:
You will hear one beep after ~3 seconds.
Continue holding for approximately 10 seconds until a second beep is heard.
The unit will power on, and the louvres will open — indicating the system is ready for Demo Mode activation.
Step 3 – Activate Demo Mode
Use the same remote controller from Step 1 and perform the following sequence without pausing between modes:
Change FAN → FAN (no intermediate stop).
Change FAN → COOL.
Change COOL → FAN.
Change FAN → DRY.
Change DRY → FAN again.
✅ Result:
The unit will turn off automatically, and the louvre will close.
This confirms that Demo Mode is successfully activated.
No indicator lamps should be flashing. The unit will respond normally to remote or Wi-Fi adapter commands (fan, swing, etc.) without requiring outdoor communication.
Step 4 – Exiting Demo Mode
To exit Demo Mode and restore normal operation:
Simply remove power from the indoor unit (unplug or switch off at breaker).
Upon re-energizing, the system will return to standard communication mode.
3. Operational Behavior in Demo Mode
| Function | Status in Demo Mode |
|---|---|
| Communication with Outdoor Unit | Disabled (No Error Displayed) |
| Remote Command Response | Fully Functional |
| Wi-Fi Adapter Operation | Active |
| Power Retention | Until Power Loss |
| Fault Indicators | None Flashing |
