Overview
The outdoor unit includes external input and output terminals to support Low Noise Mode and Peak Cut Mode.
These allow remote control of noise and energy reduction functions using external contact signals.
1. External Input Connections
| Function | Connector | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Low Noise Mode | CN10 | Reduces operating sound of the outdoor unit. Triggered by closing a dry contact. |
| Peak Cut Mode | CN11 | Limits compressor current draw to reduce power consumption. Activated via external ON/OFF signal. |
Wiring:
Use a potential-free contact (ON/OFF switch) with contact capacity ≥ 24 VDC, 10 mA.
Keep cable length ≤ 10 m between control PCB and switch.
Use optional External Connect Kit (UTY-XWZXZ3) for connection.
2. Low Noise Mode Operation
Purpose:
Reduces outdoor fan speed and compressor frequency to minimise sound levels — suitable for nighttime operation or noise-restricted zones.
Signal Logic:
Input Signal ON → Low Noise Mode active
Input Signal OFF → Normal Operation
Setup on Outdoor PCB:
Press and hold MODE (SW1) for 3 s or more.
Wait for POWER/MODE LED to blink 9 times.
Press ENTER (SW3) to confirm.
Use SELECT (SW2) to toggle between:
L2 ON = Low Noise Mode 1
L3 ON = Low Noise Mode 2
Press ENTER (SW3) to save.
LED Indicators (on PCB):
L2, L3 → Indicate active Low Noise level.
⚠ Note: Performance may vary depending on outdoor temperature conditions.
3. Peak Cut Mode Operation
Purpose:
Restricts compressor power input to a pre-set percentage to manage peak load demand.
Signal Logic:
Input Signal ON → Peak Cut Mode active
Input Signal OFF → Normal Operation
Setup on Outdoor PCB:
Press and hold MODE (SW1) for 3 s.
Wait for POWER/MODE LED to blink 9 times.
Press ENTER (SW3), then use SELECT (SW2) to set input ratio.
Choose from:
0% – Rated input (full output)
50%
75%
100%
Confirm with ENTER (SW3) and return to operation display using EXIT (SW4).
LED Indicators:
L4–L6 → Show active Peak Cut level (blinking pattern corresponds to power ratio).
4. External Output Terminals
| Output Signal | Connector | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Error Status | CN12 | Output signal active during system fault. |
| Compressor Status | CN13 | Output signal active when compressor is running. |
Load Rating:
DC 24 V max, 500 mA max recommended.
Use within 10 m from the PCB.
Requires UTY-XWZXZ3 kit.
5. Optional Parts
| Part | Model | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| External Connect Kit | UTY-XWZXZ3 | Enables external input/output wiring for Low Noise and Peak Cut functions. |
