Activation of Optional Sensors
UTY-CDPXZC Zone Controller Interface
Overview
The UTY-CDPXZC Zone Controller Interface supports optional temperature sensors for individual zone temperature monitoring and control.
Optional sensors are disabled by default and must be manually enabled through the AR-WDD1E wired wall controller.
1. Requirements
| Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Zone Controller Interface | UTY-CDPXZC |
| Wired Wall Controller | AR-WDD1E |
| Optional Temperature Sensors | Installed and correctly connected to the applicable zone module terminals |
2. Purpose
Enabling the optional sensors allows the system to:
- Detect and use temperature inputs from sensors installed in individual zones.
- Provide individual zone temperature feedback for improved comfort and control accuracy.
- Control each configured zone using its local temperature reading.
- Display zone sensor readings on the controller where supported by the system configuration.
3. Procedure
Complete the following steps using the AR-WDD1E wired wall controller.
1 | Access the Menu Press the Menu button twice. |
2 | Enter the Service Menu Press and hold both top buttons simultaneously for approximately 5 seconds. The Service (2/2) screen will appear. |
3 | Open Zone Settings From the Service (2/2) screen, select Zone Initial Setting. Press Enter to continue. |
4 | Enable the Optional Sensor Scroll to Connection State of Op. Sensor. Change the setting to Enable and confirm the selection. |
5 | Exit and Save Press Back or Menu to return to the main operating screen. The controller will automatically store the updated configuration. |
Menu twice → Hold both top buttons for 5 seconds → Service (2/2) → Zone Initial Setting → Connection State of Op. Sensor → Enable
4. Confirming Sensor Operation
Once the optional sensor function has been enabled:
- The zone controller will begin recognising temperature inputs from the connected sensors.
- Each zone configured with an optional sensor can operate based on its individual temperature reading.
- Zone temperatures may be displayed through the wall controller, depending on the system configuration.
Check the sensor wiring, cable condition and terminal connections at the UTY-CDPXZC interface before changing any additional controller settings.
5. Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Recommended Action |
|---|---|---|
| Optional sensor is not detected | Sensor disconnected, wiring fault or poor terminal connection | Inspect the sensor cable and confirm that each conductor is correctly seated in the zone module terminal. |
| Service Menu cannot be accessed | The button sequence was not completed correctly | Press Menu twice, then hold both top buttons simultaneously for the full 5 seconds. |
| Sensor is enabled but operation does not change | Configuration has not been recognised or the sensor is not assigned correctly | Confirm the zone assignment and power-cycle the zone controller after completing the configuration. |
| Incorrect or unstable zone temperature | Poor sensor location, damaged cable or sensor fault | Check the sensor location, cable routing and sensor resistance in accordance with the applicable technical documentation. |
6. Quick Reference
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Press Menu twice |
| 2 | Hold both top buttons for 5 seconds |
| 3 | Select Zone Initial Setting |
| 4 | Set Connection State of Op. Sensor to Enable |
