Overview

Fujitsu General does not sell or manufacture a dedicated inverter checker tool.
However, we do offer a diagnostic tool, model UTY-ASSXZ1, which provides similar functionality for system communication and service diagnostics on compatible Fujitsu inverter systems.

For technicians requiring full inverter-phase or output verification, third-party inverter testing tools are available and may be used with caution under appropriate conditions.

1. Fujitsu General Tool Option

Model: UTY-ASSXZ1
Function:

  • Provides service-level diagnostic functions for inverter systems.

  • Used to check system communication, performance, and error reporting.

  • Connects to Fujitsu split systems through the indoor unit control board.

Note: This tool is intended for Fujitsu-authorized service agents and is not available as a retail product.

2. Third-Party Option (Recommended Alternative)

For direct inverter output testing, a third-party Inverter Phase Check Module such as the EDC-IPCM 4040.0 (Inverter Checker with Data Flow Monitor) can be used.
This tool allows engineers to verify inverter power output and communication signals on site.

  • Detects non-functioning output devices or damaged output stages.

  • Monitors serial link communication between indoor and outdoor units.

  • Identifies connection or communication faults between PCB boards.

  • Provides LED indicators for R, Y, and B phase signal output and data flow verification.

  1. Disconnect power and wait at least 3 minutes to discharge inverter capacitors.

  2. Disconnect the compressor leads from the inverter control board.

  3. Connect the Inverter Checker module leads (R, Y, B) to the inverter terminals.

  4. Switch power back on to observe indicator lights:

    • If all six LEDs illuminate (red, yellow, blue) – inverter output is normal.

    • If any light fails – the inverter output board or driver board may be faulty.

Important:
Some inverter boards include a safety cut-out that stops output after a few seconds if the compressor is not connected. In such cases, brief illumination of all LEDs still confirms normal operation.

  • Connect the red and black probes to the communication terminals between indoor and outdoor units.

  • With the system operating, both LEDs on the checker should flash alternately, indicating two-way communication.

  • No flashing or one-sided communication suggests a fault with indoor or outdoor PCB communication circuits.

3. Safety Precautions

  • Ensure all power is isolated before connecting or disconnecting terminals.

  • Wait a minimum of 3 minutes before handling the inverter circuit.

  • Only qualified technicians should perform these tests.

  • The inverter checker must not be used in damp or wet environments.

  • The tool is for temporary diagnostic use only – not for permanent installation.

5. Conclusion

Fujitsu General does not sell a dedicated inverter checker, but service technicians can use:

  • The UTY-ASSXZ1 for Fujitsu system diagnostics, or

  • A third-party inverter phase check tool such as the EDC-IPCM 4040.0 for electrical output testing.

Always follow safety procedures, isolate power before connection, and consult the manufacturer’s instructions for correct use.
