ASTA30JCC / AOTR30JCT Operation Manual

Wall Mounted Inverter Air Conditioner - Cool Model
Operating guidance covering cooling, dry and fan operation, remote controller functions, timers, airflow adjustment, swing operation, cleaning and troubleshooting.
Applies to: ASTA30JCC wall-mounted indoor unit with AOTR30JCT outdoor unit. The source operating manual is Part No. 9315345141-01 and covers R410A cooling-only inverter systems.
Safety: Installation and servicing must only be carried out by qualified personnel. If a burning smell or other malfunction occurs, stop operation, disconnect the power supply or turn off the electrical breaker, and contact authorised service personnel.

1. Quick start

FunctionWhat to do
Start / stopPress START/STOP.
Select modePress MODE to cycle through AUTO, COOL, DRY and FAN.
Set temperatureUse SET TEMP. AUTO and Cooling / Dry range: 18-30 °C.
Fan speedPress FAN to select AUTO, HIGH, MED, LOW or QUIET.
Air directionUse the vertical and horizontal SET buttons, or press SWING for automatic movement.

2. Remote controller

The wireless remote controller operates the indoor unit from approximately 7 metres when pointed toward the signal receiver. A beep confirms that the indoor unit has received the command.

  • START/STOP: starts or stops operation.
  • MODE: AUTO / COOL / DRY / FAN.
  • SET TEMP: adjusts the temperature setting.
  • FAN: AUTO / HIGH / MED / LOW / QUIET.
  • TIMER MODE / TIMER SET: ON, OFF and Program Timer settings.
  • SLEEP: activates Sleep Timer operation.
  • SET Vertical / Horizontal: adjusts airflow direction.
  • SWING: selects up/down, left/right or combined swing.
Remote batteries: Use two R03 / LR03 batteries. If the operating range becomes noticeably shorter, replace the batteries and press RESET.

3. Operating modes

ModeOperation
AUTOThe unit automatically selects Cooling, Dry or Monitor operation according to room conditions and the temperature setting.
COOLUsed to cool the room. Set the temperature below the current room temperature for cooling operation.
DRYProvides gentle cooling while dehumidifying. Fan speed cannot be manually changed and the indoor fan may stop periodically.
FANCirculates room air without cooling.

Super Quiet operation

Select QUIET fan speed to reduce indoor airflow and operating noise. Cooling performance is reduced somewhat while Super Quiet operation is active. Super Quiet cannot be used during Dry mode.

4. Timer operation

Before using timer functions, set the remote controller clock to the correct current time.

TimerOperation
ON timerStarts the air conditioner at the selected time.
OFF timerStops the air conditioner at the selected time.
Program timerCombines one ON and one OFF transition within a 24-hour period.
Sleep timerAutomatically raises the Cooling / Dry temperature setting by 1 °C each hour, up to a total increase of 2 °C, then switches the unit off when the selected time expires.

5. Manual Auto operation

If the remote controller is lost or unavailable, use the indoor unit MANUAL AUTO button. The unit operates in AUTO mode with AUTO fan speed and a standard temperature setting of 24 °C.

Important: Holding MANUAL AUTO for more than 10 seconds starts forced cooling operation intended for authorised service personnel.

6. Airflow direction and Swing

Vertical and horizontal airflow can be adjusted from the remote controller after the indoor unit has started and the louvers have stopped moving.

AdjustmentDetails
VerticalPositions 1-3 are the normal range for Cooling / Dry. Positions 1-6 are available in Fan mode.
HorizontalFive left/right airflow positions are available from the remote controller.
SwingSelect up/down, left/right, or combined up/down/left/right swing. Press SWING until STOP is selected to cancel.
Cooling / Dry caution: Do not leave the vertical louvers outside positions 1-3 for extended periods. Moisture may condense near the outlet and drip. If left outside the normal range for more than approximately 20 minutes, the louvers automatically return to position 3.

7. Cleaning and care

Stop the air conditioner and disconnect the power supply before cleaning.

  • Clean the standard air filters approximately every 2 weeks during normal use.
  • Remove dust with a vacuum cleaner or wash with mild detergent and warm water.
  • Allow filters to dry thoroughly in a shaded place before refitting.
  • Do not use water hotter than 40 °C, abrasive cleaners, benzene or thinner.
  • If the unit will be unused for one month or longer, operate FAN mode for approximately half a day first to dry internal components.

Air cleaning filters

FilterPart number / maintenance
Polyphenol Catechin Air Cleaning FilterUTR-FA13-1 - disposable. Replace approximately every 3 months.
Negative Air Ions Deodorizing FilterUTR-FA13-2 - clean approximately every 3 months and replace approximately every 3 years.

8. Troubleshooting

SymptomCheck / explanation
Does not restart immediatelyA protection delay of approximately 3 minutes may prevent compressor operation after stopping or reconnecting the power supply.
Water-flow or refrigerant noiseRefrigerant movement can be audible during operation and for a short period after starting or stopping.
Mist from indoor unitA fine mist can occur during Cooling / Dry when room air is rapidly cooled.
Weak or stopped airflowThis may be normal during Dry mode, Super Quiet operation or AUTO monitor operation.
Does not operateCheck the power supply, fuse / circuit breaker and timer settings.
Poor coolingCheck filters, intake/outlet blockage, temperature setting, open doors/windows, direct sunlight, room heat loads and Super Quiet mode.
Remote control response is incorrectCheck battery condition and polarity.
Service required: If the problem persists, a burning smell is detected, or the OPERATION and TIMER indicator lamps flash abnormally, stop operation, disconnect the power supply and contact authorised service personnel.

9. Operating limits and Auto Restart

OperationOutdoor temperatureIndoor temperature
CoolingApproximately 18-46 °CApproximately 18-32 °C
DryApproximately 18-46 °CApproximately 18-32 °C

If the unit is used for long periods in high humidity, approximately 80% or more, condensation may form on the indoor unit and drip. After a power interruption, the air conditioner automatically restarts in its previous operating mode when power is restored. A timer may need to be reset after an interruption.
