Basic Operation

  1. Press START/STOP.
  2. Press MODEto select:
    • AUTO
    • COOL
    • DRY
    • FAN
  3. Use the TEMP buttons to set the required temperature.

Temperature adjustment is available from 18-30°C in AUTO, COOL and DRY modes. Temperature control is not available in FAN mode.

Fan Speed

Press the FAN button to cycle through:

  • AUTO
  • HIGH
  • MED
  • LOW
  • QUIET

When AUTO fan speed is selected, the fan speed is adjusted automatically according to the operating mode.

Vertical and Horizontal Airflow Direction

This model provides remote control of both vertical and horizontal airflow direction.

Vertical Airflow

  • Press Vertical SET to adjust the vertical louvre.
  • The vertical louvre has 8 positions.
  • In COOL or DRY mode, leaving the louvre in positions 5-8 for more than approximately 30 minutes causes it to return automatically to position 4.

Horizontal Airflow

  • Press Horizontal SET to adjust the horizontal airflow direction.
  • The horizontal louvre has 5 positions.

Swing Operation

Each press of the SWING button cycles through:

  • Up / down swing
  • Left / right swing
  • Up / down + left / right swing
  • Stop swing
Condensation caution: Keeping the vertical louvre at a steep downward angle for extended periods during COOL or DRY operation may cause condensation and water droplets.

POWERFUL Operation

Press POWERFUL for maximum output and strong airflow for rapid cooling.

  • The indoor unit emits 3 short beeps when POWERFUL starts.
  • Press POWERFUL again to cancel; the unit emits 2 short beeps.
  • POWERFUL may cancel automatically after approximately 20 minutes or when the room reaches the set temperature.
  • POWERFUL cannot operate at the same time as ECONOMY.
  • POWERFUL temporarily overrides Outdoor Unit Low Noise and Energy Saving functions.

ECONOMY Operation

Press ECONOMY to reduce energy consumption.

  • In COOL or DRY mode, the room temperature is controlled a few degrees higher than the set temperature.
  • Maximum output is approximately 70% of normal air-conditioning operation.

Outdoor Unit Low Noise

Press OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISE to reduce outdoor-unit noise by limiting compressor speed and fan speed.

  • The setting remains stored until it is cancelled.
  • It cannot be used simultaneously with FAN, DRY or POWERFUL operation.

Manual Operation Without the Remote

If the remote controller is unavailable, use the indoor-unit MANUAL AUTO button.

Timer Functions

ON / OFF Timer

  1. Press TIMER SETTING.
  2. Use SELECT to choose ON, OFF, ON/OFF program, or SLEEP.
  3. Press NEXT.
  4. Set the required time using SELECT.
  5. Press SEND while close to the indoor unit.

SLEEP Timer

Available timer periods are:

0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or 9 hours.

WEEKLY Timer

  • Up to 4 programs per day.
  • Up to 28 programs per week.
  • An ON event can include a temperature setting.
  • The day and clock must be set before the Weekly Timer will operate correctly.
After a Power Failure
A power interruption can make the internal clock incorrect. When power returns, the TIMER indicator may blink. Reset the date, time and timer settings as required.

Human Sensor - Energy Saving

The Human Sensor Energy Saving program is ON from the factory.

  • Press SENSOR to enable or disable the function.
  • If no person is detected for approximately 20 minutes, the system automatically adjusts the temperature setting.
  • In COOL / DRY mode, the set temperature may increase by up to approximately 2°C.
  • Normal operation resumes when a person is detected again.

The sensor detection range shown in the manual is approximately 7 m, with approximately 100° horizontal coverage and 90° vertical coverage.

Demand Response

The system supports Air Conditioning Demand Response where enabled by the electricity supplier.

DR ModeOperation
DR Mode 1Compressor OFF
DR Mode 2Electrical energy consumption limited to no more than 50% of rated half-hour consumption
DR Mode 3Electrical energy consumption limited to no more than 75% of rated half-hour consumption

The indoor OPERATION indicator blinks while Demand Response is active.

Operating Temperature and Humidity

  • COOL / DRY indoor temperature: approximately 18-32°C
  • Indoor humidity: below approximately 80% RH

Filter Cleaning

Clean the air filters approximately once every 2 weeks under normal use.

  1. Open the intake grille.
  2. Remove the filters.

Normal Operating Characteristics

The following conditions may be normal and do not necessarily indicate a fault:

  • Compressor operation delayed for approximately 3 minutes after a sudden power OFF / ON.
  • Refrigerant-flow noise for 2-3 minutes after startup.
  • Light squeaking caused by thermal expansion and contraction of the front panel.
  • Mist during COOL or DRY operation.
  • Very low or stopped indoor airflow during DRY mode or monitoring operation.
  • Reduced airflow when QUIET fan speed is selected.

Troubleshooting

Unit Does Not Operate

  • Check circuit breaker and power supply.
  • Check for a power outage or blown fuse.
  • Check whether a timer is preventing operation.

Poor Cooling

  • Clean dirty air filters.
  • Check that the indoor intake and outlet are not obstructed.
  • Confirm the temperature setting is appropriate.
  • Close open windows and doors.
  • Check for excessive sunlight or internal heat loads.
  • Check whether fan speed is set to QUIET.
  • Check whether Outdoor Unit Low Noise is active.
  • Check whether Demand Response is being applied by the electricity supplier.

Remote Controller Does Not Operate Correctly

  • Check the batteries.
  • Confirm battery polarity.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote controller and indoor unit receiver.
Stop operation and isolate power immediately if:
  • There is a burning smell or smoke.
  • Water is leaking from the unit.
  • The problem remains after the basic checks above.
  • The OPERATION and TIMER indicators blink while the ECONOMY indicator flashes rapidly.
