2. Main remote controller functions

FunctionWhat it does
FANSelects AUTO, HIGH, MED, LOW or QUIET fan speed.
POWERFULRuns the unit at maximum power and strong airflow for rapid cooling. It turns off automatically after the room reaches the set temperature following a minimum run period, or after 20 minutes.
ECONOMYReduces energy use by operating at a moderated temperature. Maximum output is approximately 70% of normal operation in COOL or DRY.
SWINGStarts or stops automatic vertical louvre swing.
SETAdjusts the vertical airflow direction.
OUTDOOR UNIT LOW NOISEReduces compressor rotation and outdoor fan speed to lower outdoor unit noise. The setting is retained after the indoor unit is stopped.
SENSORTurns the Human Sensor Energy Saving program on or off.

Airflow direction and Power Diffuser

  • The vertical airflow louvre has seven positions.
  • In COOL or DRY, positions 1–3 are the suggested range. If positions 4–7 are used for more than 30 minutes, the louvre automatically returns to position 3 to reduce the risk of condensation.
  • The Power Diffuser moves in conjunction with the vertical airflow louvre during normal positioning. During SWING operation, the Power Diffuser does not move.
  • The horizontal airflow direction is adjusted manually using the two louvre knobs. Stop the vertical louvre before adjusting the horizontal louvres.
  • Do not manually force the vertical airflow louvre.

Remote controller range

  • Aim the remote controller at the indoor unit signal receiver.
  • Operating range is approximately 7 metres.
  • A beep confirms that the indoor unit has received the signal.
  • Direct sunlight, strong lighting, curtains or walls can interfere with signal transmission.

3. Timer operation

Before setting timers, make sure the day and clock on the remote controller are correct.

ON / OFF timer

  1. Press TIMER SETTING.
  2. Use SELECT to choose ON timer or OFF timer.
  3. Press NEXT.
  4. Set the required time with SELECT. A short press changes the time by 5 minutes; holding the button changes it by 10 minutes.
  5. Press SEND while close to the indoor unit.

To cancel, press the ON/OFF timer button while the timer indicator is shown.

Program timer

The Program timer combines one ON timer and one OFF timer within a 24-hour period. The event closest to the current time operates first.

Sleep timer

The Sleep timer helps reduce excessive cooling while sleeping. During COOL or DRY operation, the set temperature is automatically raised as the timer progresses, then the unit stops when the selected time expires.

Available durations are 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or 9 hours.

Weekly timer

  • Up to 4 ON/OFF reservations per day can be programmed.
  • Up to 28 reservations per week are available.
  • An ON program can include a temperature setting from 18 to 30 °C.
  • The Weekly timer cannot be used at the same time as the ON/OFF, Program or Sleep timer.
  • If power is interrupted, the timer clock may become incorrect. Reset the clock and timer if the TIMER indicator blinks after power is restored.

4. Energy saving and Demand Response

Human Sensor Energy Saving

The Energy Saving program is enabled at the time of purchase. Press SENSOR to turn the function on or off.

ConditionEnergy Saving response
No person detected for approximately 20 minutes in COOL / DRYThe set temperature is increased by up to approximately 2 °C.
AUTOEnergy Saving operates automatically according to the selected cooling or drying operation.
Person returnsThe unit returns to the original settings.

The Human Sensor detection range is approximately 7 m, with a 90° vertical range and 100° horizontal range. Detection can be affected by room temperature, lack of movement, furniture, glass, pets, moving curtains and other heat sources.

Demand Response

DR modeOperation
DR1Compressor off.
DR2Cooling continues, with electrical energy consumption limited to no more than 50% of rated energy consumption over a 30-minute period.
DR3Cooling continues, with electrical energy consumption limited to no more than 75% of rated energy consumption over a 30-minute period.
Demand Response note: Cooling performance may reduce while a DR mode is active. The temperature setting cannot override the demand response. If the unit is behaving this way, confirm whether the electricity supplier is activating Demand Response.

5. Normal operating behaviours

BehaviourExplanation
Unit does not restart immediatelyA compressor protection delay of approximately 3 minutes can occur after a sudden power OFF/ON.
Refrigerant flow or light squeaking noisesThese can be normal sounds caused by refrigerant flow and thermal expansion or contraction.
Mist from indoor unit in COOL / DRYCan occur when room air is rapidly cooled and condensation forms.
Airflow is weak or stops in DRYThe indoor fan operates at low speed to control humidity and may stop from time to time.
Airflow is very low in QUIETQUIET mode intentionally reduces fan speed and airflow.
Indoor fan stops at times in COOLThe indoor fan may stop from time to time when the outdoor unit is stopped.
Very low fan speed in AUTODuring monitoring operation in AUTO mode, the fan can rotate at very low speed.

6. Cleaning and maintenance

Before cleaning: Stop the indoor unit and disconnect the power supply. Do not touch the aluminium heat exchanger fins and do not work from an unstable surface.

Air filters

  1. Open the intake grille.
  2. Lift the filter handle, release the two claws and slide the filter down and out.
  3. Remove the filter holder and air cleaning filter from the rear of the main air filter.
  4. Vacuum the main air filter or wash it using neutral household detergent and warm water.
  5. If washed, dry the filter thoroughly in shade.
  6. Refit the air cleaning filter and holder, reinstall the main air filter and ensure both claws locate correctly.
  7. Close the intake grille completely.

Under normal use, clean the air filters approximately every 2 weeks.
