1. Quick operation

Powerful operation

Press POWERFUL for maximum output and strong airflow. The function will automatically end when the set temperature is reached after a minimum operating period, or approximately 20 minutes after starting.

• Cannot be used at the same time as Economy operation.
• Overrides Outdoor Unit Low Noise and Human Sensor Energy Saving while active.
• May be restricted when an optional wired remote controller is connected.

10 °C Heat

Press 10 °C HEAT to maintain the room at approximately 10 °C and reduce the risk of the room becoming excessively cold.

• The Economy indicator illuminates during this operation.
• Only vertical airflow adjustment is available.
• The unit will not heat if the room is already warm enough.
• Press START/STOP to cancel.

2. Airflow settings

Vertical airflow has six selectable positions. Use SET to change position and SWING to start or stop automatic vertical swing.

Horizontal airflow is adjusted manually using the two louver knobs. Stop the vertical louver before making horizontal adjustments.

3. Timer operation

Set the clock before programming timers. If the internal clock is reset by a power interruption, the Timer indicator will blink and the clock/timer settings must be entered again.

ON / OFF timer

1. Press TIMER SETTING.
2. Select ON timer or OFF timer.
3. Press NEXT.
4. Set the required time with SELECT.
5. Press SEND while close to the indoor unit.

Program timer

Combines one ON timer and one OFF timer within a 24-hour period. The event closest to the current time operates first.

Sleep timer

Available times are 30 minutes, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or 9 hours. The temperature is gradually moderated before the unit turns off at the end of the selected period.

Weekly timer

Up to 4 programs per day can be set for each day of the week.

• Each program can be ON, OFF, or unused.
• Temperature can be assigned to ON programs.
• AUTO / COOL / DRY timer temperature range: 18.0–30.0 °C.
• HEAT timer range: 10.0 °C or 16.0–30.0 °C.
• The Weekly Timer cannot be used simultaneously with ON/OFF, Program or Sleep timers.
• Weekly Timer may be restricted if an optional wired remote controller is connected.

4. Energy-saving functions

Economy

Economy operation moderates the target temperature and limits maximum output to approximately 70% of normal operation in COOL, HEAT and DRY.

Human Sensor Energy Saving

The Human Sensor detects movement. If no person is detected for approximately 20 minutes, the unit automatically moderates the set temperature.

Approximate detection range is 6 m, 90° vertically and 100° horizontally. The sensor may not reliably detect a stationary person, a person hidden by furniture or glass, or where room temperature is close to body temperature. Pets, moving curtains or oscillating appliances may also cause false detection.

Fan Control for Energy Saving

When enabled, the indoor fan may run intermittently after the set temperature is reached in cooling. This feature is disabled from factory and can be enabled from the remote controller settings.

Demand Response

During Demand Response the Operation indicator blinks and cooling/heating capacity may be reduced. If performance unexpectedly drops, confirm whether the electricity supplier has activated a Demand Response event.

5. Remote controller custom code

Custom codes allow multiple air conditioners in the same room to be controlled independently. Four codes are available: A, B, C and D.

1. Display only the clock.
2. Hold MODE for more than 5 seconds.
3. Change the code between A / B / C / D.
4. Press MODE again to save.

The indoor unit and remote controller must use the same code. The indoor unit is factory-set to code A.

6. Wireless LAN control

The KMTC indoor unit provides a W-LAN adapter slot for optional wireless LAN control. Wireless LAN is not built into the indoor unit; the adapter must be installed in the dedicated slot.

1. Install the supported mobile app and create a user account.
2. Turn off and isolate power to the air conditioner.
3. Open the intake grille and the W-LAN adapter cover.
4. Insert the W-LAN adapter into the indoor-unit connection slot with the label facing as shown on the adapter instructions.
5. Close the cover and intake grille.
6. Restore power and wait at least 60 seconds before pairing.
7. Ensure the smartphone/tablet is connected to the same wireless router being used for the air conditioner.

WLAN setup options

The remote controller provides Manual mode and Button mode to place the adapter into pairing mode. If pairing is not completed within several minutes, the pairing mode automatically cancels.

Temporary deactivation

Wireless LAN can be temporarily disabled through the remote controller setup menu without removing the adapter.

Reset / transfer of ownership

Initialize the W-LAN adapter when changing router, disposing of the product or transferring it to another person. The air conditioner should also be unregistered from the mobile app. A previous owner's registration may prevent a new user from completing setup.

7. Optional wired controller

A compatible optional wired controller may be used together with the wireless remote controller. Some wireless functions become restricted when the wired controller is connected.

One wired controller can operate up to 16 air conditioners in group control. Group control and wireless LAN control cannot be used together.

8. Cleaning and care

Wash standard air filters with mild detergent and warm water if required, then dry completely in the shade before refitting.

9. Normal operating characteristics

• After power is restored or the unit is restarted, compressor operation may be delayed for approximately 3 minutes.
• During heating, the indoor fan may run slowly during warm-up.
• During automatic defrost, the indoor unit may stop for up to 15 minutes and the Operation indicator will blink.
• Water or steam from the outdoor unit during heating/defrost can be normal.
• Refrigerant flow, slight squeaking from temperature expansion, and defrost sizzling noises may be heard during normal operation.
• In Dry mode, the indoor fan may run slowly or stop intermittently.

10. Troubleshooting

Indicator lamp guidance

• Operation lamp blinking: may indicate automatic defrost.
• Filter indicator: clean filter and reset the filter sign.
• Demand Response: Operation lamp uses a repeating blink pattern while DR is active.
• Timer setting error: reset the clock and timer after a power interruption.
• Test run: cancel from the remote controller if started unintentionally.
• Simultaneous fault lamp pattern: if Operation and Timer blink while Economy blinks rapidly, authorised service is required.
