2. Remote controller functions

Manual Auto operation
If the remote controller is lost or unavailable, use the MANUAL AUTO button on the indoor unit:

3. Wireless LAN, custom code and controller options
Built-in wireless LAN control
The ASTG09KMCB and ASTG12KMCB indoor units have a built-in wireless LAN adapter. The indoor unit includes wireless LAN control indicators and buttons.
Remote controller custom code A / B / C / D
If two or more air conditioners are installed in the same room and one remote controller operates the wrong unit, the remote controller can be assigned one of four custom codes. The indoor unit must be configured to the matching code by service personnel.
- Press START/STOP until only the clock is displayed.
- Press and hold MODE for at least 5 seconds to display the current custom code. The factory setting is A.
- Use the TEMP ▲ / ▼ buttons to select A, B, C or D.
- Press MODE again to return to the clock display.
Optional wired remote controller
An optional wired remote controller can be used, including together with the wireless remote controller. The wired controller adds a temperature setback timer; however, some wireless-remote functions must be disabled when a polar 3-core wired remote controller is used.

4. Timer operation
Before using timers, make sure the remote controller clock and day are correct. A power interruption can make the internal clock incorrect and cause the TIMER indicator to blink.
ON / OFF timer
- Press TIMER SETTING.
- Use SELECT to choose ON/OFF timer and press NEXT.
- Set the required time with SELECT.
- Press SEND while close to the indoor unit.
Program timer
The ON timer and OFF timer can be combined as an ON→OFF or OFF→ON sequence within a 24-hour period. The timer closest to the current time operates first.
Sleep timer
The SLEEP timer gradually adjusts the set temperature to reduce excessive heating or cooling while sleeping, then switches the unit off after the selected duration.
Weekly timer
- Enter TIMER SETTING and select WEEKLY.
- Select the required day and program number.
- Select ON timer, OFF timer or no timer.
- Set the required time.
- For an ON event, set the required temperature.
- Press SEND to save.
5. Human Sensor and energy saving
The Human Sensor detects movement in the room and can automatically moderate the temperature when nobody is detected for approximately 20 minutes.

The sensor has an approximate 7 m range, with a vertical detection angle of 90° and horizontal angle of 100°. Detection may be affected when people remain still, are obscured by furniture, or when moving pets, curtains, plants or appliances are within the sensing area.
Demand Response
These models are compatible with an electricity-supplier Demand Response program where available. During a Demand Response event the indoor OPERATION indicator blinks and the system may have its compressor disabled or its electricity consumption limited.

6. Normal operating characteristics
| 3-minute restart delay | After a sudden OFF→ON restart, the compressor may remain stopped for about 3 minutes for protection. |
| Automatic defrost | During heating in cold/humid conditions, operation may stop temporarily for up to approximately 15 minutes while the outdoor unit defrosts. The OPERATION indicator blinks. |
| Steam / water outdoors | Steam or water from the outdoor unit during heating/defrost is normal. |
| Low airflow in heating | The fan may operate very slowly while the indoor heat exchanger warms or when room temperature is above the set temperature. |
| Auto restart | After a power interruption, the system normally restarts automatically in the previous operating mode. Timer settings may require resetting. |

7. Care and cleaning
Air filters should be cleaned approximately every 2 weeks under normal use. A clogged filter can reduce airflow, lower performance and increase operating noise.
- Open the intake grille.
- Release the filter claws and remove each air filter.
- Remove the air-cleaning filter holders from the rear of the filters.
- Vacuum the filter, or wash it using warm water and a neutral household detergent.
- Dry completely in the shade.
- Refit the filter and ensure the retaining claws are correctly engaged.
- Close the intake grille completely.

8. Troubleshooting
