Refrigerant circuit components

The reverse-cycle circuit shown in the service manual includes the evaporator, distributor, electronic expansion valve, strainer, dryer, accumulator, compressor, muffler, four-way valve, high-pressure switch and outdoor condenser.

4. Fault diagnosis

Indoor faults are indicated by the OPERATION, TIMER and VERTICAL SWING lamps. During test running, all three lamps flash slowly together. The manual identifies the following diagnostic categories:

AreaFaults covered
Control / memoryIndoor EEPROM abnormal; outdoor EEPROM abnormal
Indoor sensorsRoom-temperature sensor open/short; indoor heat-exchanger sensor open/short
Indoor operationFloat switch operated; indoor fan abnormal
CommunicationIndoor signal abnormal; outdoor signal abnormal
Outdoor supplyOutdoor power-source connection abnormal
Outdoor sensorsHeat-exchanger, outdoor-temperature and discharge-pipe sensors open/short
ProtectionOutdoor high-pressure abnormal; outdoor discharge-pipe temperature abnormal

Outdoor PCB LEDs

The outdoor PCB uses LED1 to LED6 for fault indication. The service manual provides specific LED patterns for signal abnormal, indoor unit abnormal, discharge-pipe temperature abnormal, outdoor heat-exchanger temperature abnormal, outdoor-temperature abnormal, power-source connection error, EEPROM abnormal and high-pressure abnormal.

When a fault clears, the LED normally turns off. For discharge-pipe temperature abnormal and high-pressure abnormal, the indication may remain latched for up to 24 hours while power remains on.
Three-phase check: A power-source connection abnormal should include confirmation of the 380-415 V three-phase supply and correct phase/power connections before progressing to component replacement.

5. Remote-control custom code switching

The indoor PCB and wireless remote can be matched to custom codes A, B, C or D. The remote and PCB settings must agree.

JM2JM3Remote code
ConnectedConnectedA - primary setting
ConnectedDisconnectedB
DisconnectedConnectedC
DisconnectedDisconnectedD

Remote setting procedure:

  1. Press START/STOP so only the clock is displayed.
  2. Hold MASTER CONTROL for more than five seconds to display the current signal code.
  3. Use the temperature adjustment button to select A, B, C or D.
  4. Press MASTER CONTROL again to return to the clock display.
Important: If the remote custom code does not match the indoor PCB jumper setting, the remote will not operate the air conditioner.

7. Service notes

  • The outdoor unit uses two fan motors and an electronic control board with LED fault indication.
  • The outdoor circuit includes a high-pressure switch, electronic expansion valve, four-way valve, belt heater and discharge/outdoor/pipe thermistors.
  • At low outdoor temperatures, the manual notes that outdoor fan speed may reduce or one fan may stop intermittently.
  • The indoor PCB includes custom-code switching, room and pipe thermistor inputs, fan control and horizontal/vertical louver step-motor outputs.
  • The indoor unit uses a T3.15 A 250 V fuse on the indoor power/control circuit; the outdoor circuit diagram identifies a 6.3 A fuse.
  • Use the original service manual for exact circuit diagrams, PCB test points, LED flash combinations, disassembly locations and full parts breakdowns.
