4. Fault indication and diagnosis
The indoor unit identifies faults using the OPERATION, TIMER and VERTICAL SWING indicator lamps. During test running, all three indicators flash slowly together.
| Fault category | Manual description |
|---|
| Indoor electronics | Indoor EEPROM abnormal |
| Outdoor electronics | Outdoor EEPROM abnormal |
| Indoor sensors | Room-temperature sensor open/short; indoor heat-exchanger sensor open/short |
| Drain / condensate | Float switch operated |
| Communication | Indoor signal abnormal; outdoor signal abnormal |
| Fan | Indoor fan abnormal |
| Power | Outdoor power-source connection abnormal |
| Outdoor sensors | Outdoor heat-exchanger, outdoor-temperature and discharge-pipe sensors open/short |
| Protection | Outdoor high-pressure abnormal; outdoor discharge-pipe temperature abnormal |
Outdoor PCB LEDs - 45 and 54 class
The 45 and 54 class outdoor boards use LED1 to LED6 to indicate signal abnormal, indoor unit abnormal, discharge-pipe temperature abnormal, outdoor heat-exchanger temperature abnormal, outdoor temperature abnormal, power-source connection error, EEPROM abnormal and high-pressure abnormal.
Once a fault is cleared, the LED indication normally turns off. The manual notes that discharge-pipe temperature abnormal and high-pressure abnormal indications may remain continuously displayed for up to 24 hours while power remains on.
5. Remote-control custom code switching
Where multiple systems are installed in the same area, the indoor PCB and wireless remote can be matched to custom codes A, B, C or D.
| JM2 | JM3 | Custom code |
|---|
| Connected | Connected | A - primary setting |
| Connected | Disconnected | B |
| Disconnected | Connected | C |
| Disconnected | Disconnected | D |
Remote setting procedure for applicable models:
- Press START/STOP so only the clock is displayed.
- Hold MASTER CONTROL for more than five seconds to display the current signal code.
- Use the temperature adjustment button to select A, B, C or D.
- Press MASTER CONTROL again to return to the clock display.
Important: The remote-control code and indoor PCB jumper setting must match. If they do not match, the remote controller will not operate the unit.

7. Service notes
- The refrigerant circuit uses 9.52 mm (3/8 in) liquid piping across the listed models. Gas-pipe size is 15.88 mm (5/8 in) on the 30 class and 19.05 mm (3/4 in) on the 45/54 reverse-cycle systems shown in the manual.
- The 30 reverse-cycle outdoor unit uses a 4-way valve, solenoid coil, thermistors and control PCB.
- The 45 and 54 reverse-cycle outdoor units use an electronic expansion valve, 4-way valve, high-pressure switch, discharge/outdoor/pipe thermistors and dual outdoor fans.
- The manual notes that at low outdoor temperatures, outdoor fan speed may reduce and one fan may stop intermittently on applicable models.
- For three-phase 45 and 54 class systems, check supply and phase connections when diagnosing power-source connection abnormalities.
- Use the original circuit diagrams and disassembly illustrations for detailed wiring and component-location work.
