- Establish the fault domain: Determine whether the issue is indoor control, outdoor power/refrigeration, sensor-related or inter-unit communication/wiring.
- Check sensors and loads before PCB replacement: Fan motors, thermistors, reversing valve coil and compressor circuit should be checked against the circuit diagram before condemning a board.
- Use the refrigerant diagram for flow diagnosis: Confirm four-way valve operation, compressor pumping, capillary/strainer condition and system charge before assuming a control fault.
