This article provides key technical, installation, airflow, electrical, refrigerant, control and function-setting information for the ASTG18KMCB, ASTG22KMCB and ASTG24KMCB wall-mounted indoor units and their matching outdoor units.

Indoor installation clearances
The indoor-unit installation-space diagram specifies the following clearances:
- 50 mm or more at the upper side areas shown in the installation diagram
- 127 mm or more on the left lower side
- 133 mm or more on the right lower side
- 1,500 mm or more in front/below the indoor unit
- 1,800 mm or more mounting height reference shown in the manual

Cold climate installation: When outdoor temperature is 0°C or below, the manual advises not to use the accessory drain pipe and drain cap because the drain water may freeze. In heavy snowfall areas, the outdoor unit air inlet and outlet must also be protected from snow blockage.

Electrical cable and circuit protection must be selected in accordance with applicable local requirements. The technical manual specifies that voltage drop should be limited to less than 2%; increase conductor size if required.

External input:
- Operation/Stop or Forced Stop can be selected using the indoor-unit function settings.
- Use twisted-pair 22 AWG cable.
- Maximum external-input wiring length is 150 m.
- Keep the control cable separate from power wiring.
- Use non-polar relays and switches.

Important: The communication kit is required in addition to the UTY-XWZXZ5 external connect kit when using the external control functions described in this manual.
Group control
Up to 16 indoor units can be controlled by one compatible wired remote controller using group control.

6. Function settings
Caution: Incorrect function settings can cause the product to malfunction.
Entering function-setting mode using the wireless controller
- While pressing the POWERFUL button and the TEMP ▲ button simultaneously, press RESET.
- Use the TEMP buttons to select the function number.
- Press POWERFUL to move to the setting value.
- Use the TEMP buttons to select the required setting value.
- Press MODE once and confirm the beep.
- Press START/STOP to confirm the setting.
- Press RESET to exit function-setting mode.
- Disconnect the power supply after completing the settings.
- Wait at least 30 seconds, then reconnect power.

Important: Set Function 95 before adjusting Functions 30, 31, 35 or 36. Changing Function 95 afterwards resets those room-temperature correction settings to 0.0°C.
