- The noise criteria level as highlighted by the acoustic engineer is 41db. The smallest Reverse Cycle Wall Hung Split we manufacture (ASTG09KMTC) at 2.5kw cooling capacity has a db rating of 46db which already means it is 5db above the required level. The model installed at the house is a 20.3kw (ARTC72LATU) cooling capacity unit which was recorded at 54db.

Unfortunately in this case, the required noise levels by the council are entirely impossible to meet with any of our air conditioners.
In regards to having one of our technicians attend site again to do another reading, this will need to be approved by the General Manager of Customer Experience as we currently have restrictions in place due to the governments position on COVID-19. If this is approved, someone other than FGA would need to seek approval from the neighbour to turn the air conditioner on to do the sound test again. My honest opinion is given the data provided above, there is no point in us attending again as we know through previous testing both by FGA and the acoustic engineer that our unit would not perform to the required 41db requirement.
