myanywAiR® Compatibility - Which Units Are Supported?

Pre-installation guidance for customers, service teams and technicians
Important: A General indoor unit is not automatically compatible with myanywAiR®. Always confirm the complete indoor unit model against the current official compatibility list before quoting, selling or installing a Wi-Fi adaptor.

1. Overview

The myanywAiR® system combines a compatible Wi-Fi adaptor with the myanywAiR mobile application, allowing approved General indoor air-conditioning units to be controlled remotely from a smartphone or tablet.

Compatibility covers a broad range of product types, including wall-mounted, floor-console, cassette, ducted and selected VRF indoor units. Older systems may also be supported; however, compatibility must be verified by exact model number and available control interface.

Product categoryGeneral compatibility position
Wall-mountedMany models are supported, subject to exact model confirmation.
Floor consoleSelected models may be compatible.
CassetteSelected models may be compatible through an approved adaptor or controller interface.
DuctedSelected models are supported; controller and thermistor configuration may affect operation.
VRF indoor unitsSelected indoor units are supported, with additional setup requirements possible.
Indoor units with an IR receiverMay support an infrared-based smart-control solution, but exact compatibility and feature support must still be confirmed.
Best practice: Do not rely on unit age, appearance or remote-control type alone. Record the complete indoor model number from the rating label and check it against the current approved list.

2. Representative Model Examples

The following examples may appear within supported product ranges. This list is not exhaustive and must not replace the official compatibility reference.

Unit typeRepresentative models
Wall-mountedASTG30KMTA, ASTG34KMTA, ASTG09KMTC, ASTG12KMTC
CassetteAUTG30KRLA, AUTG36KRLA, AUTH09KVLA, AUTH12KVLA
DuctedARXK018GLEH, ARXK024GLEH, ARXD012GLEH, ARXA030GLEH
VRF indoor unitsAUXK018GLAH, AUXK024GLAH, AUXM018GLAH, ABYA030GTEH
Do not confirm compatibility from this example table alone. Model suffixes, production revisions, controller type and adaptor version can affect suitability.

3. Key Compatibility Conditions

CheckRequirement
Exact indoor modelMust be listed as supported for the intended adaptor or control solution.
Control interfaceThe indoor unit must provide a supported infrared, wired-controller or dedicated adaptor interface.
Adaptor typeThe selected adaptor must match the indoor model and communication method.
Wi-Fi networkA stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is generally required at the indoor-unit location.
Signal qualityThe wireless signal must be strong and stable enough to maintain communication.
VRF configurationAdditional remote-controller, room-temperature sensor or thermistor settings may be required.
Feature limitationsAvailable functions depend on the indoor unit, adaptor, app version and system configuration.

4. Technician Pre-Check Workflow

Step 1 - Record the complete indoor model
Photograph the rating label and record the full model, including all letters and suffixes.
Step 2 - Verify against the current compatibility list
Confirm the model and intended adaptor combination before scheduling or quoting the installation.
Step 3 - Identify the controller interface
Confirm whether the unit uses infrared control, a wired remote controller or a dedicated internal adaptor connection.
Step 4 - Check network readiness
Confirm a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is available and has adequate signal strength at the indoor unit.
Step 5 - Set customer expectations
Explain that some functions may not be available on older or more basic units, even when basic remote operation is supported.
Step 6 - Document the outcome
Record the model, adaptor type, compatibility result, network details and any feature limitations in the job notes.

5. What Customers Should Know

  • Compatibility is determined by the exact indoor model, not the General brand name alone.
  • Most older units do not have built-in Wi-Fi and require an additional adaptor.
  • Available app functions depend on the capabilities of the connected air conditioner.
  • A stable home internet service and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network are normally required.
  • Installation labour, adaptor supply and setup may need to be quoted separately.
  • Where a unit is not supported, an alternative control solution or equipment replacement may need to be considered.
Customer-service position: Confirm compatibility before creating an installation booking. This reduces failed visits, avoids incorrect adaptor sales and supports a better customer outcome.

6. Information to Collect Before Escalation

Indoor model numberComplete model, including suffix.
Indoor serial numberPhotograph preferred.
Controller typeInfrared, wired controller, zone controller or other interface.
Adaptor modelExisting or proposed Wi-Fi adaptor.
Network details2.4 GHz availability and signal quality at the unit.

7. Summary

myanywAiR® provides remote-control capability for a broad range of approved General indoor units. Successful installation depends on accurate model verification, the correct adaptor, a supported control interface and a suitable Wi-Fi environment.

For any model that is not clearly listed, treat compatibility as unconfirmed and escalate for technical review before making a commitment to the customer.
