Wired Remote Timer Setting – UTY-RNKYT
1. ON/OFF Timer
The ON/OFF timer allows the air conditioner to switch ON or OFF after a selected number of hours.
To set the ON/OFF timer
| 1 | Press the TIMER MODE button to select either ON TIMER or OFF TIMER. |
| 2 | Use the SET TIME buttons to select the required timer period. |
The selectable time range is 1 to 24 hours.
Once the time is set, the timer starts automatically. The amount of time remaining until the timer operates is shown on the display and decreases as time passes.
No timer → OFF Timer → ON Timer → Weekly Timer
To cancel
- Press the TIMER DELETE button to cancel the timer mode.
- The timer can also be cancelled by changing the timer mode using the TIMER MODE button.
2. Weekly Timer
The Weekly Timer allows programmed ON and OFF times to be assigned to individual days or multiple days of the week.
Weekly timer setup
| 1 | Press the TIMER MODE button until the Weekly Timer is selected. |
| 2 | Press and hold the TIMER SET button for 2 seconds or more. |
| 3 | Press the DAY button to select the required day, then press TIMER SET to confirm. |
| 4 | Use the SET TIME buttons to set the ON time in 30-minute increments, then press TIMER SET to move to the OFF time. Set the OFF time in the same way. |
| 5 | Repeat the day and time setting procedure for any additional days required. |
| 6 | Press and hold TIMER SET for 2 seconds or more to complete the Weekly Timer settings. |
Selecting the day
When ALL is selected, all days can be programmed together.
Available operating periods
The Weekly Timer can store up to two ON/OFF operating periods per day.

Independent OFF Timer
The second Weekly Timer period can be changed from a standard ON/OFF period to an Independent OFF Timer.
During the Weekly Timer time-setting stage, press the TIMER MODE button to change to the Independent OFF Timer setting.
Deleting a programmed time
While programming a day, press the TIMER DELETE button during the day or time-setting stages to delete that day's programmed operating time.
If ALL days are selected, the programmed operating times for all days are deleted.
Starting the Weekly Timer
Select the Weekly Timer using the TIMER MODE button. Once selected, the timer starts automatically.
The operating time for the current day is shown on the display.
Cancelling the Weekly Timer
- Press the TIMER DELETE button.
- Alternatively, change to another timer mode using the TIMER MODE button.
- Set the ON time first, then set the OFF time.
- If the ON or OFF time is not set correctly, the timer may not operate correctly.
- The Weekly 2 setting cannot be earlier than the Weekly 1 setting.
- Weekly 1 and Weekly 2 operating periods cannot overlap.
- The earliest OFF time is 30 minutes after the ON time.
- The OFF time can extend into the next day.
- The earliest Independent OFF time is 30 minutes after the last OFF time.
- An Independent OFF time can be set up to 00:00 of the following day.
3. DAY OFF Setting – Holiday Function
The DAY OFF function temporarily suspends an existing Weekly Timer schedule for a selected day.
| 1 | During Weekly Timer operation, press and hold TIMER SET for 2 seconds or more. |
| 2 | Use the DAY button to select the day to be set as DAY OFF. |
| 3 | Press and hold the DAY (DAY OFF) button for 2 seconds or more. |
| 4 | Press and hold TIMER SET for 2 seconds or more to complete the setting. |
DAY OFF notes
- DAY OFF can only be applied to a day that already has a Weekly Timer setting.
- If an operating period extends into the following day, the effective DAY OFF period follows the programmed operating-time arrangement.
- DAY OFF can only be set once.
- The DAY OFF setting is cancelled automatically after the selected day has passed.
4. Temperature Set Back Timer
The Temperature Set Back Timer temporarily changes the set temperature during a programmed time period.
To program the Set Back Timer
| 1 | Press the SET BACK button to display the Set Back information. |
| 2 | Press and hold TIMER SET for 2 seconds or more. |
| 3 | Select the required day and operating time using the same day and time-setting process used for the Weekly Timer. |
| 4 | Use the temperature-setting buttons to select the required Set Back temperature. |
| 5 | Repeat the day and time-setting steps as required, then press and hold TIMER SET for 2 seconds or more to complete the setting. |
Example
Normal set temperature: 24°C
Set Back operating period: 15:00 – 22:00
Set Back temperature: 28°C
Starting the Set Back Timer
Press the SET BACK button. The Set Back confirmation display appears for approximately 5 seconds, after which the timer starts automatically.
Cancelling the Set Back Timer
Press the SET BACK button, then press the TIMER DELETE button while the Set Back confirmation display is shown.
Even if the Set Back button is pressed again, the Set Back Timer remains cancelled.
- The Set Back Timer changes the set temperature only. It cannot start or stop the air conditioner.
- The Set Back Timer can be programmed for up to two periods per day, although only one temperature setting is used.
- The Set Back Timer can operate together with ON, OFF and Weekly Timer functions.
- The Set Back operating time is shown only in the Set Back confirmation display.
- During COOL/DRY mode, the air conditioner operates at a minimum of 18°C even if the Set Back temperature is set to 17°C or lower.
- Depending on the model, room temperature settings as low as 10°C, 12°C or 14°C may be available.
