1. Overview

The FGLair app integrates Fujitsu’s Wi-Fi-enabled air conditioners (such as the KMCB series) with popular voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
This allows users to control their air conditioning systems hands-free — including turning units on or off, changing temperature, and switching modes.

⚙️ Note:
When Alexa or Google is used to turn ON the air conditioner, the system will default to COOLING mode, with a preset fan speed and temperature.
Therefore, during Winter, users must issue a second command to switch to heating mode.

2. Setup Summary

To enable voice control:

  1. Ensure the FGLair app is installed and linked to the air conditioner.

  2. Register or log in to your FGLair account.

  3. In your Alexa or Google Home app, enable the “FGLair Skill” (Alexa) or link your FGLair account (Google).

  4. Once linked, Alexa/Google will detect the registered AC names or room groups (e.g., Living Room AC, Master Bedroom AC).

3. Using Alexa Voice Commands

Once configured, you can use any of the following examples:

Basic Commands

  1. “Alexa, turn on living room.”
→ Turns on the air conditioner in cooling mode by default.

  2. “Alexa, turn off bedroom.”
    → Turns off the unit.

Temperature Control

  1. “Alexa, set master bedroom temperature to 78 degrees.” (°F)

  2. “Alexa, set master bedroom temperature to 26 degrees.” (°C)

  3. “Alexa, increase family room temperature.”

  4. “Alexa, increase basement AC temperature by 3 degrees.”

  5. “Alexa, decrease the thermostat temperature.”

  6. “Alexa, decrease the thermostat temperature by 2 degrees.”

Mode Control

  1. “Alexa, set lounge to Cool.”

  2. “Alexa, set living room to Heat.”

  3. “Alexa, set living room to Auto.”

? Winter Tip:
Because Alexa defaults to Cooling mode when the air conditioner is turned ON, users should issue both of the following commands:

  • “Alexa, turn on living room.”

  • “Alexa, set living room to Heat.”

4. Checking Current Settings

  1. “Alexa, what is the living room set to?”
→ Alexa responds with the current operating mode and temperature setting.

  2. “Alexa, what is the temperature in the living room?”
→ Alexa provides the current room temperature reading.

5. Temperature Units (°C vs °F)

Alexa’s temperature display unit depends on your FGLair “World Region” setting:

  • If “World Region” is set to United States, Alexa uses °F (Fahrenheit).

  • If “World Region” is set to any other country, Alexa uses °C (Celsius).

⚠️ Note:
Incorrect region or registration settings may cause a small reading discrepancy between Alexa and the FGLair app — typically 1°C or 2°F difference.

6. Google Assistant Commands

The functionality and phrasing are similar to Alexa.
Example commands include:

  • “Hey Google, turn on living room air conditioner.”

  • “Hey Google, set lounge to 22 degrees.”

  • “Hey Google, change mode to heat.”

Google Assistant may not default to cooling mode upon startup — behaviour can vary based on app version and device region.

7. Limitations & Best Practices

8. Example Winter Usage Workflow
