FGLair Voice Control Guide
Using FGLair with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant
Setup, voice commands, temperature settings and winter operation
For compatible Fujitsu Wi-Fi-enabled air conditioners linked to the FGLair app
At a glance: FGLair can be linked with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to turn the air conditioner on or off, change the set temperature, select an operating mode and check current settings using voice commands.
Important winter operation: When Alexa turns the air conditioner on, the system may start in Cooling mode. During winter, issue a second command to change the unit to Heat.
1. Set up voice control
- Install the FGLair app and link the compatible air conditioner.
- Register or sign in to your FGLair account.
- In the Alexa app, enable the FGLair Skill. In Google Home, link your FGLair account.
- Allow Alexa or Google Home to detect the registered air conditioner names or room groups, such as Living Room AC or Master Bedroom AC.
Naming tip: Use short, distinct room names. This makes voice commands easier for the assistant to recognise.
2. Amazon Alexa voice commands
Basic operation
| Voice command | Result |
|---|---|
| “Alexa, turn on living room.” | Turns the air conditioner on. Alexa may start it in Cooling mode by default. |
| “Alexa, turn off bedroom.” | Turns the air conditioner off. |
Temperature control
- “Alexa, set master bedroom temperature to 26 degrees.”
- “Alexa, increase family room temperature.”
- “Alexa, increase basement AC temperature by 3 degrees.”
- “Alexa, decrease the thermostat temperature.”
- “Alexa, decrease the thermostat temperature by 2 degrees.”
Mode control
- “Alexa, set lounge to Cool.”
- “Alexa, set living room to Heat.”
- “Alexa, set living room to Auto.”
Winter command sequence
- “Alexa, turn on living room.”
- “Alexa, set living room to Heat.”
- “Alexa, set living room temperature to 22 degrees.”
3. Check current settings
| Voice command | Expected response |
|---|---|
| “Alexa, what is the living room set to?” | Alexa reports the current operating mode and temperature setting. |
| “Alexa, what is the temperature in the living room?” | Alexa reports the current room temperature reading. |
4. Celsius and Fahrenheit settings
Alexa’s temperature unit depends on the World Region selected in FGLair:
- United States: Fahrenheit (°F)
- Other countries: Celsius (°C)
Temperature discrepancy: Incorrect region or registration settings may cause a small difference between Alexa and FGLair readings, typically around 1°C or 2°F.
5. Google Assistant voice commands
Google Assistant uses similar voice commands. Examples include:
- “Hey Google, turn on living room air conditioner.”
- “Hey Google, set lounge to 22 degrees.”
- “Hey Google, change mode to heat.”
Google Assistant startup behaviour may vary depending on the app version and device region. Confirm the operating mode after turning the system on.
6. Limitations and recommended actions
| Issue | Recommended action |
|---|---|
| Unit starts in Cooling mode | Issue a second command to change the system to Heat during winter. |
| Alexa reports an unexpected temperature unit or reading | Confirm the World Region setting in FGLair. |
| Mode or temperature does not match after reconnecting | Repeat the voice command or adjust the setting directly in FGLair. |
| Voice command is delayed or times out | Check internet stability and confirm that the FGLair account remains linked. |
Recommended check: When a voice command does not produce the expected result, open the FGLair app and verify the current power, mode and temperature settings before issuing the command again.
