Description of Control Operation
Applicable Models:
ASTG30KMTA / ASTG34KMTA / ASTH30KMTD / ASTH34KMTD
1. Cooling Capacity Control
A room temperature thermistor built into the indoor unit continuously monitors the difference between the set temperature and the actual room temperature, regulating the compressor operating frequency to maintain optimal comfort and efficiency.
When the room temperature is 6.0°C or more above the set temperature, the compressor operates at maximum frequency to achieve rapid cooling.
When the room temperature is 1.0°C or more below the set temperature, the compressor stops to prevent overcooling.
Within a range of +6.0°C to -1.0°C relative to the set temperature, the compressor frequency adjusts proportionally according to the difference detected.
The maximum frequency is also governed by the outdoor temperature and indoor fan speed, as illustrated in Figure 1.
2. Compressor Frequency Range
| Model | Minimum Frequency | Maximum Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| ASTG30KMTA / 30CMTA | 14 rps | 65 rps |
| ASTG34KMTA / 34CMTA | 16 rps | 77 rps |
3. Frequency Limitation Based on Outdoor Temperature
The compressor’s maximum operating frequency varies according to outdoor conditions. As the outdoor temperature increases, the control system adjusts compressor frequency to balance performance and protection.
| Outdoor Temperature Zone | Temperature Range | Max Frequency (rps) – ASTG30KMTA / 30CMTA | Max Frequency (rps) – ASTG34KMTA / 34CMTA |
|---|---|---|---|
| A Zone | 34–36°C | 65 (Hi) / 45 (Me) / 38 (Lo) / 27 (Quiet) | 77 (Hi) / 51 (Me) / 42 (Lo) / 29 (Quiet) |
| B Zone | 30–32°C | 65 / 45 / 38 / 27 | 77 / 51 / 42 / 29 |
| C Zone | 21°C | 50 / 38 / 34 / 27 | 70 / 42 / 37 / 29 |
| D Zone | 19–12°C | 38 / 34 / 29 / 20 | 42 / 37 / 34 / 23 |
| E Zone | 10–2°C | 38 / 34 / 29 / 20 | 42 / 37 / 34 / 23 |
| F Zone | 0°C and below | 38 / 34 / 29 / 20 | 42 / 37 / 34 / 23 |
4. Operational Summary
Compressor control ensures energy-efficient cooling by modulating inverter frequency based on load demand and outdoor ambient conditions.
Fan mode and quiet operation further influence the compressor speed ceiling to maintain a balance between comfort and noise level.
The system prevents short cycling and compressor overrun through integrated temperature and operation time controls.
