UTY-CDPXZC and UTY-CDPXZD
Simplified installation, wiring, commissioning and fault-reference guide for authorised service personnel
Authorised personnel only: Installation and electrical work must be completed by appropriately qualified personnel in accordance with national and local wiring rules. Isolate all power before opening the unit or commencing wiring.
Critical voltage warning: UTY-CDPXZC uses 24 V AC dampers. UTY-CDPXZD uses 240 V AC dampers. Connecting 240 V to the 24 V damper circuit will damage the dampers and may create a fire risk.

Common to both models: 240 V interface power, up to 8 zones, up to 2 wired remote controllers, up to 2 optional remote sensors, connection to the indoor unit through CN6, and zone commissioning through the wired remote controller.
2. Electrical requirements

Never: connect power wiring to remote-controller terminals, bundle power and communication wiring together, omit protective earth, or energise the interface before wiring and covers are complete.
3. Installation sequence
| 1 | Confirm compatibility. Install only on an indoor unit approved for the zone-control interface. Applicable examples in the manual include ART 36, ART 45/54/60 and ART 72/90 families. |
| 2 | Select the mounting location. Provide adequate support, service clearance and ventilation. Do not install in high salt, oil, steam, corrosive gas, flammable gas or high-temperature areas. |
| 3 | Connect the indoor-unit interface cable. At the indoor unit, connect the supplied zone-interface cable in place of the normal remote-controller cable. Terminal colours are Red / White / Black. |
| 4 | Mount the interface. Remove the cover, align the approved mounting holes and secure with the supplied M4 x 12 mm screws. Do not drill the indoor unit to force installation. |
| 5 | Complete all electrical connections. Connect CN6, remote controller, dampers, power supply and any optional remote sensors. Secure all cables with the supplied cable ties. |
| 6 | Close and seal. Refit the cover, install one-touch bushes in unused cable holes and seal remaining openings with putty to prevent insect entry. |

4. Wiring reference
Indoor unit connection
Indoor unit to zone interface: connect the supplied interface cable to CN6 on the main PCB. Secure the cable so no mechanical load is transferred to the connector.

Up to two wired remote controllers can be connected. When two controllers are used, connect through a locally supplied junction box.
UTY-CDPXZC damper wiring - 24 V AC

UTY-CDPXZC requires a correctly sized 24 V AC transformer. Size the transformer for the total connected damper VA. Do not connect the 240 V supply directly to the 24 V damper terminal.

Connect each zone to the correctly marked terminals:

Incorrectly interchanging OPEN, COM and CLOSE may damage the zone-interface PCB.

5. Commissioning and test run
| 1 | Confirm installation of the wired remote controller and indoor unit. |
| 2 | Turn on the indoor unit first, then the zone-control interface. For UTY-CDPXZC, also energise the damper transformer. |
| 3 | Complete remote-controller Initial Setting, including number of outlets and damper type. |
| 4 | Set date and time, then complete all required indoor-unit Function Settings. |
| 5 | Power-cycle the zone interface and indoor unit after function settings are complete. |
| 6 | Complete Zone Initial Setting when remote sensors are fitted or other zone adjustments are required. |
| 7 | Power-cycle again after Zone Initial Setting. |
| 8 | Run the indoor unit and confirm each zone number matches the physical location. |
| 9 | Verify each damper opens and closes correctly and airflow reaches the intended zone. |

6. LED diagnosis
Normal operation: Green LED D40 continuously lit and Red LED D41 off.

7. Common installation mistakes

Final verification: Record the number of outlets, damper type, zone locations and remote-sensor locations. Leave the operating and installation documentation with the customer.
