Issue

When an operation instruction is sent to an indoor unit from the Operation Setting function of the Service Tool, the indoor unit fan motor may not operate.

Applicable indoor units: Duct-type indoor units used with S Series and V Series systems.

Required action: Update the Service Tool software to 0.2.1.1 or later.

How to update the Service Tool

Option 1 – Automatic online update

  1. Connect the Service Tool computer to the Internet.
  2. Start UTY-ASGXZ1 / UTY-AMGXZ1.
  3. If a later software version is available, the update prompt will be displayed automatically.
  4. Select Yes to start the software update.
  5. Allow the update to complete and then confirm the installed software version.

Note: The automatic update message is not displayed when the installed software is already the latest version.

Option 2 – Manual update check

  1. Start the Service Tool.
  2. Right-click the Service Tool icon in the Windows task tray.
  3. Select Version.
  4. The Version window will display the current Product Version and Software Version.
  5. Select Checking for later version.
  6. If an update is available, select Update.
  7. Wait for the download and installation to complete, then confirm that the software version has changed to 0.2.1.1 or later.

Technician check

SymptomIndoor fan does not run when an operation command is sent from Service Tool Operation Setting.

Important: This bulletin addresses a Service Tool software function failure. If the Service Tool is already on the modified software version and the indoor fan still does not operate, continue diagnosis of the indoor unit/system rather than treating the symptom as this software issue.
