VR-II Outdoor Unit Field Settings & Monitor Mode
Outdoor PCB test run, F1 monitor values, F2 field settings, F3 functions and F9 error history
For VR-II systems using the outdoor unit PCB 7-segment display and SW107 / SW108 / SW109 push buttons
This article provides a field reference for accessing and using the outdoor unit PCB monitor and setting modes. The source document covers test operation from the outdoor PCB, live operating data, field configuration, maintenance functions and stored error history.
Qualified service personnel only: These settings can alter system operation. Record existing settings before making changes. Do not change a field setting unless the application and intended effect are understood.
1. Outdoor PCB controls

| SW107 - MODE / EXIT | Moves from monitoring to mode selection, or exits back toward the normal monitoring display. |
| SW108 - SELECT | Scrolls through modes, item codes and selectable values. |
| SW109 - ENTER | Enters the selected mode or confirms an item. Some functions require ENTER to be held for at least 3 seconds. |
| LED105 / LED104 | 7-segment display used for mode, item and value indication. |
| LED101 / LED102 | Power mode / error status indicators shown on the outdoor PCB. |
2. Test run from the outdoor PCB
Important: All indoor units connected to the outdoor unit can be test-operated by the push-button setting. The source specifies this function is for the master outdoor unit only.
- From the normal monitoring display, press MODE / EXIT (SW107) once.
- Press SELECT (SW108) until F3 Function Mode is displayed.
- Press ENTER (SW109).
- Use SELECT to choose the required function:
00 Cooling test run | 01 Heating test run | 02 Test run stop | 91 Central control forced release. - Hold ENTER (SW109) for at least 3 seconds.
- After pursuit completion is shown, press ENTER or allow the display to time out after approximately 5 seconds.
- Press MODE / EXIT to return to the normal monitoring display.
3. F1 - Monitor mode
F1 provides live operating information without changing the system configuration.

Temperature values are displayed in °C or °F according to the configured unit. Pressure values are displayed in MPa or psi according to the configured pressure unit.
4. F2 - Field setting mode

| 60 | Backup operation | 00 = On; 01 = Off. With backup enabled, remaining compressors can operate if one compressor fails. |
| 70-73 | Electricity meter settings | 70/71 set electricity meter number; 72/73 set electricity meter pulse value for the meter connected to CN135. |
Electricity meter limits: Meter number 000 and 201-299 make CN135 pulse input ineffective. Valid meter numbers are 001-200. Pulse setting 0000 is ineffective; valid pulse settings are 0001-9999.
5. F3 - Function mode

| 30 | Error history clear | Clears all stored abnormal code histories. |
| 32 | Current time clear | Sets accumulated current time to 0. |
| 33 | INV compressor accumulated time clear | Sets INV compressor accumulated time to 0. |
| 34 | Constant-speed compressor accumulated time clear | Sets constant-speed compressor accumulated time to 0. |
| 35 | Field setting all clear | Returns all field setting items to default. |
| 40 | Abnormal reset | Clears an abnormal display after repair is complete. Operate after power OFF or power ON of the repaired outdoor unit as specified by the source procedure. |
| 41 | Maximum memorized indoor unit number reset | Resets the maximum memorized indoor unit count. The source notes this function is added from Revision Code A. |
| 91 | Central control forced release | For centralized controller communication failure. Releases centralized-control limitations. |
Use caution with F3-35: Field setting all clear restores settings to defaults. Record all field settings before using this function.
6. F9 - Error history mode
The outdoor main PCB can store up to 10 abnormal code histories. F9 allows the technician to review them in sequence.

When more than 10 errors are memorized, the oldest stored error is erased. Use the VR-II troubleshooting/error-code reference to interpret the code displayed for each history position.
