How to Obtain the SSID of a Wi-Fi Module
Option 1 – Check the sticker on the indoor unit
The installer should place the Wi-Fi identification sticker on the indoor unit during installation. On wall-mounted indoor units it is generally located under the front cover, near the Wi-Fi adaptor access area.
The label normally contains:
- MAC address
- SSID
- PIN
- A QR code
SSID: AC-UTY-B072BFBE7E0A
Option 2 – Find the SSID in the phone Wi-Fi settings
This is generally the easiest method when the Wi-Fi module is powered and broadcasting its setup network.
- Stand close to the indoor unit. For best results, remain within approximately 2 metres of the Wi-Fi module.
- Open Settings on the phone or tablet.
- Open Wi-Fi or Wireless Networks.
- Allow the available network list to refresh.
- Look for a network beginning with AC-UTY-.
- The complete network name shown is the Wi-Fi module's SSID.
| What you may see | Meaning |
|---|---|
| AC-UTY-B072BFBE7E0A | Example Wi-Fi module SSID |
| No AC-UTY network visible | Confirm the adaptor is powered and in the appropriate setup/broadcast mode, then refresh the Wi-Fi list. |
Option 3 – Read the label on the Wi-Fi adaptor
If the sticker is missing and the SSID cannot be identified from the phone's Wi-Fi list, the identification details are also printed on the side of the Wi-Fi adaptor itself.
- Have the installer or technician access the Wi-Fi adaptor.
- If necessary, remove the adaptor sufficiently to view the side identification label.
- Read the line beginning with SSID:.
- Record the complete SSID exactly as printed.
MAC: A0CC2B6238A8
SSID: AC-UTY-A0CC2B6238A8
PIN: [printed on adaptor label]
