How to Obtain the SSID of a Wi-Fi Module

Three ways to identify the Wi-Fi adaptor network name
The SSID is the Wi-Fi network name broadcast by the Fujitsu General / AIRSTAGE Wi-Fi adaptor. It is normally shown in the format AC-UTY-XXXXXXXXXXXX and can be found using one of the three methods below.

Option 1 – Check the sticker on the indoor unit

The installer should place the Wi-Fi identification sticker on the indoor unit during installation. On wall-mounted indoor units it is generally located under the front cover, near the Wi-Fi adaptor access area.

The label normally contains:

  • MAC address
  • SSID
  • PIN
  • A QR code
Example:
SSID: AC-UTY-B072BFBE7E0A
Important: The Wi-Fi identification sticker should be retained. It contains information that may be required for setup, reconnection or support.

Option 2 – Find the SSID in the phone Wi-Fi settings

This is generally the easiest method when the Wi-Fi module is powered and broadcasting its setup network.

  1. Stand close to the indoor unit. For best results, remain within approximately 2 metres of the Wi-Fi module.
  2. Open Settings on the phone or tablet.
  3. Open Wi-Fi or Wireless Networks.
  4. Allow the available network list to refresh.
  5. Look for a network beginning with AC-UTY-.
  6. The complete network name shown is the Wi-Fi module's SSID.

Option 3 – Read the label on the Wi-Fi adaptor

If the sticker is missing and the SSID cannot be identified from the phone's Wi-Fi list, the identification details are also printed on the side of the Wi-Fi adaptor itself.

Technician / installer action: Removal of the Wi-Fi adaptor from the indoor unit should only be performed by an appropriately qualified person. Isolate power before accessing or removing components where required by the product instructions.
  1. Have the installer or technician access the Wi-Fi adaptor.
  2. If necessary, remove the adaptor sufficiently to view the side identification label.
  3. Read the line beginning with SSID:.
  4. Record the complete SSID exactly as printed.
Typical label format:
MAC: A0CC2B6238A8
SSID: AC-UTY-A0CC2B6238A8
PIN: [printed on adaptor label]

Quick reference

MethodWhere to lookRecommended use
1Identification sticker under the indoor unit front coverUse when the installer sticker is present
2Available Wi-Fi networks on a phone or tabletPreferred / easiest method
3Label printed on the side of the Wi-Fi adaptorUse when the sticker is missing and the SSID is not visible on the mobile device
Key point: If the Wi-Fi module is powered and broadcasting, checking the available Wi-Fi networks on a nearby mobile device is usually the quickest way to obtain the SSID.

3. Have the installer remove the WiFi adaptor from the indoor unit provided you are within range of the Wifi module (2m). The SSID is recorded on the side of the WiFi Adaptor
